How to prevent metastasis during the recovery period of breast cancer

The recurrence and metastasis of breast cancer is a time bomb in the hearts of many patients and their families. Because the recurrence rate of breast cancer after surgery is extremely high, and the recurrence is more difficult to treat than before the recurrence, many patients and their families want to know how to prevent the metastasis of breast cancer in the gray stage of recurrence. The following are measures to prevent breast cancer metastasis:

1. Patients should pay attention to functional exercise. Since the scope of breast cancer surgery is large, local skin, subcutaneous fat, blood, nerves, lymphatic vessels and muscles will be damaged to varying degrees, thus affecting the movement of the affected upper limb and even causing chest deformity. To prevent this, the most important thing is to perform functional exercise in a timely manner.
There are many ways to do functional exercises, and they are relatively simple. Generally, you should start to move your upper limbs about a week after surgery, first gradually raising the affected arm. At first, the range of motion is very small due to pain, but don't worry, and practice every day. Because the lymph nodes on the affected side are cleared during surgery, many capillaries and blood vessels are damaged, which may affect the return of blood and lymph in the upper limb, causing swelling of the affected upper limb and affecting movement.
Second, actively taking treatment measures in the critical period of 1-3 years after surgery can effectively reduce the risk of recurrence. For patients, after breast cancer surgery, receiving systematic treatment and monitoring in a regular hospital is the key to preventing recurrence. Especially in the first 5 years after primary breast cancer surgery, as long as conditions permit, you should insist on a full set of treatment in a regular hospital (preferably the original surgery hospital), and then follow the doctor's advice for regular checkups. You should go to the hospital for a checkup once a month within six months after surgery, and then every 3 months thereafter.
3. Avoid various factors that promote the recurrence of breast cancer: do not smoke or drink, avoid using beauty cosmetics containing high levels of estrogen, and try to avoid exposure to radioactive and electromagnetic radiation.
4. During the period when the patient goes home for recuperation after treatment, the family members should make arrangements according to the patient's physical condition and response to treatment. If the patient is very weak after surgery, and the toxic and side effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy are serious, he should mainly rest in bed and not rush to get up and move around. The diet should be easy to digest, suitable for the patient's taste, rich in various vitamins and trace elements, and less greasy food;
5. Establish a scientific lifestyle: actively participate in physical exercise, maintain an optimistic mood and a good attitude, develop scientific eating habits, eat less high-fat, smoked and grilled foods, and eat more vegetables and fruits.
