How to preserve fresh wild mushrooms

The preservation methods of different varieties will be different, but in general it is best to preserve them in an environment of 2 to 4 degrees. How to store fresh wild mushrooms

1. Fresh mushrooms are generally stored at a low temperature of 2-4°C. The shelf life varies depending on the variety, some can be longer, some shorter. It can be placed in the refrigerator or in a cold storage. It can also be stored with plastic wrap.

If we leave the mushrooms indoors without doing anything, they may dry up in two days. Some people will then say that you can just store them in the refrigerator. However, if you wrap the mushrooms in plastic wrap and put them in the refrigerator in two days, they will rot. This is because a large amount of moisture in the mushrooms evaporates and cannot evaporate outside the plastic wrap, so the surface of the mushrooms becomes more and more moist, and within a few days all the mushrooms will rot. Therefore, mushrooms cannot be stored in the refrigerator.

How long fresh mushrooms can be kept before they can be eaten depends on the variety of mushrooms you have and the temperature conditions under which they are stored. For example, straw mushrooms cannot be eaten after being stored for one day. The King Oyster Mushroom can be stored for more than 5 days.

Generally, don't eat it when it becomes soft. You can blanch the fresh mushrooms in water, squeeze them dry, put them in a fresh-keeping bag and store them in the freezer. Just thaw them naturally before eating. They can be kept for a long time.
