Does appendicitis in children require surgery?

In contemporary society, appendicitis affects a wider range of people. Not only adults can get appendicitis, but children may also suffer from it. When appendicitis attacks, the stomach will be very painful. Appendicitis can be treated with surgery, but it does not necessarily require surgery. It can also be treated with medication. Different situations require different treatment measures. So, does children need surgery for appendicitis?

Appendicitis is an inflammatory disease caused by multiple factors such as obstructive infection, diarrhea, constipation and other gastrointestinal dysfunction. This disease is mainly treated surgically in clinical practice. However, since eight-year-old children are very likely to be infected by bacteria during surgery and cause serious consequences, it should be treated with caution.

However, if an eight-year-old child suffers from appendicitis, it will take some time to decide whether to undergo surgical resection. This is because children have relatively low resistance and are easily infected by foreign bodies, which can lead to the occurrence and development of the disease. Therefore, appendicitis surgery in children must be performed with caution.

But we all know that the best treatment for appendicitis is surgical resection. If the child has a good resistance and the prognosis in the later stage is expected to be good, and after considering many aspects and finding that surgical resection is possible, we can choose surgical treatment because this treatment method is faster and the effect is very good, but it will cause certain damage to the child's body.

In summary, appendicitis is a disease that is mainly treated with surgery in clinical practice. However, surgical treatment also has certain limitations. For example, mucosal edema type appendicitis cannot be treated surgically because this type of appendicitis is likely to cause mucosal damage and mucus secretion after surgical treatment, thereby causing a series of secondary infections. At this time, non-surgical treatment should be considered.
