Diet is the key to treating hemiplegia caused by stroke

Studies have found that many patients suffering from hemiplegia due to stroke have improper diet. Therefore, the best way to completely cure this disease is to change the diet, eat more vegetables and fruits, eat fish at least three times a week, and control salt intake.

1. Eat more vegetables and fruits

Eat at least five or more kinds of food every day, and carrots must be one of them. People who eat carrots five times or more a week have a 68% lower risk of stroke than those who eat carrots once a month or less! This was the result of Harvard University's eight-year tracking of 90,000 female nurses. In addition, spinach is also a very effective food for preventing stroke. The protective effects of carrots and spinach are due to their high content of beta-carotene. According to research, people who take 15-20 mg of beta-carotene per day have a significantly different risk of stroke than those who only take 6 mg per day. The reason why vegetables rich in beta-carotene, such as carrots, spinach and other vegetables, can prevent stroke is that carotene can prevent cholesterol from being oxidized into harmful forms, which then accumulate in blood vessels and cause blood clots. More importantly, if there is a large amount of beta-carotene and vitamin A in your blood, it can help you avoid death from a stroke, or reduce the nerve damage caused by a stroke and speed up your body's recovery! This is the conclusion reached by researchers at the University of Brussels after testing the blood of 80 stroke patients within 24 hours of onset. This is because when you have a stroke, that is, when your brain is deprived of oxygen, your brain cells begin to malfunction, and in the most serious cases, the brain nerve cells are damaged. But if you have a lot of vitamin A in your blood, it can prevent various cell degeneration when it occurs, thereby reducing the degree of brain damage.

2. Eat fish at least three times a week

Eat fish at least three times a week, especially fish high in omega-3 fats. If your blood contains a lot of omega-3 fatty acids, you are less likely to have a stroke; and even if you do have a stroke, the damage will be less. A recent Dutch study found that people aged 60-69 who ate fish at least once a week were half as likely to have a stroke over the next 15 years as those who did not eat fish. A series of studies conducted in Japan also found that fishermen who ate 9 ounces of fish a day were 25-40% less likely to die from a stroke than farmers who ate only 3 ounces of fish a day. This is because the magical omega-3 fatty acids can regulate the state of the blood, making it less likely to form clots, thereby preventing blockage of blood vessels in the brain. If you're old enough to worry about clogged blood vessels, imagine this: When you take fish oil, it stays inside your cell membranes. These cells filled with fish oil are more elastic and as soft as liquid. That is, cells in this soft form can more easily squeeze through narrowed blood vessels and deliver oxygen to cells in the brain and heart. This subtle change could save your life, especially if your blood vessels are old and clogged. By the way, eating saturated animal fat has the opposite effect, making cell membranes more rigid. Therefore, in order to prevent stroke and cardiovascular disease, it is best not to eat this type of fat.

3. Control salt intake.

Even if salt doesn't raise your blood pressure, it can be harmful to brain tissue and cause mini-strokes. Experiments have been conducted on mice, feeding them high-salt and low-salt diets. All the mice that ate a high-salt diet died of stroke within fifteen weeks, even though their blood pressure did not rise; while only 12% of the mice that ate a low-salt diet died of stroke. Rats that died from a high-salt diet had a series of mini-strokes that eventually led to the death of brain tissue and damaged arteries.
