Dandelion is a common plant, but few people know that it has great medical effects. If you drink it as tea, it can clear away heat, detoxify, and reduce inflammation. So to a certain extent, dandelion can treat prostatitis, but it cannot cure it. It should be properly combined with some antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. If the condition is serious, it is best to undergo surgery, otherwise the condition will become more serious. 1. Can dandelion cure prostatitis? Drinking dandelion tea is helpful for prostatitis to a certain extent, but it can only be used as an auxiliary treatment. It is not realistic to rely entirely on this to treat the disease. Dandelion itself is a traditional Chinese medicine, which has the effects of clearing away heat and detoxifying, reducing swelling and dispersing nodules, and antibacterial and anti-inflammatory; it can also be used for various infections, inflammations, carbuncles, furuncles, urinary tract infections, etc. 2. Why are anti-inflammatory drugs useless for prostatitis? The prostate is covered with an outer membrane, also called the blood-prostate barrier. Most drugs, such as cephalosporin, cannot penetrate the prostate outer membrane and therefore cannot kill bacteria. You can switch to drugs such as fluoroquinolones, macrolides, tetracyclines and sulfonamides, which will have better effects. It is recommended to take one of the above antibiotics orally for 2 to 4 weeks, and then evaluate the efficacy based on whether the symptoms are relieved. If the condition is indeed alleviated, you can continue to take this antibiotic for a full course of treatment (4 to 6 weeks); if the efficacy is not good, you need to switch to other antibiotics based on the results of prostate fluid culture. 3. Will sitting for a long time cause prostatitis? Sitting for a long time will compress the prostate, causing excessive congestion in the perineum and pelvic organs. As blood accumulates, the products of the body's metabolism will also accumulate here, leading to obstruction of the prostate gland ducts and poor discharge of prostatic fluid, which may cause prostatitis. Secondly, sitting for a long time may also cause you to hold your urine, which will increase the pressure in the bladder. When the urethral sphincter cannot control the urine, some urine will enter the urethra under the action of bladder pressure. However, the urethral sphincter is not relaxed at this time, and the urine cannot be discharged smoothly. The high pressure in the urethra may cause the urine to flow back into the prostate, inducing or aggravating prostatitis. Sitting for a long time is a factor that can induce or aggravate prostatitis, and of course it will also affect the effectiveness of medication. |
