What are the dangers of brain cancer

Brain cancer is very harmful to our body. We all know that after suffering from brain cancer, our vision will gradually become blurred. In severe cases, we may become blind and suffer from epilepsy. When patients have headaches and vomit all day, they feel very uncomfortable. Let's take a look at the hazards of brain cancer.

1. Blindness. Not many people go blind suddenly due to brain cancer. Often, vision loss appears first. If it is not treated promptly and effectively, it will gradually develop into blindness. Some children, and even a few patients, ignore the vision loss on one side, and only find out that one eye is blind during examination. Some patients, especially the elderly, have eye diseases with brain cancer. When vision changes, they mistake it for an eye disease, delay treatment, and develop into blindness.
2. Paralysis is mostly hemiplegia. The incidence is high when the tumor is located near the motor area of the brain, the basal ganglia, and the ventral side of the brainstem. It starts with mild paralysis, gradually develops into severe paralysis and then complete paralysis. While there is hemiplegia, there will be other manifestations, such as symptoms of high intracranial pressure. If it is treated in time in the early stage of the disease, it will generally not develop into hemiplegia. A small number of tumors are accompanied by bleeding and sudden hemiplegia, which is similar to cerebral hemorrhage. Head CT or magnetic resonance imaging should be performed in time for early diagnosis and early treatment.
3. Sudden death is mostly caused by increased intracranial pressure caused by the tumor, brain herniation, compression of the respiratory and circulatory centers, and respiratory and cardiac arrest. It is more likely to occur when the tumor has grown to a large size and is close to the late stage and has not received timely and effective treatment. However, some tumors are not large, but are located in the midline and affect the cerebrospinal fluid circulation in the early stage. If the cause is not eliminated, it will also cause brain herniation and sudden death.
