Can patients with ovarian tumors get pregnant?

The ovary is an important structure of female reproduction, but it is also a very fragile part, vulnerable to disease. Here we will learn some knowledge about ovarian care, hoping to help everyone in their future life!

Ovarian diseases account for a certain proportion of female gynecological diseases. Ovarian tumors are a very common female disease. There are more than 70 types of ovarian surgeries. However, gynecological experts remind female friends to be careful when undergoing ovarian tumor surgery, because for benign ovarian tumors, the ovaries must be partially removed for health safety. If it is a malignant tumor, it may even be completely removed.

Ovarian tumors can be benign or malignant. Two-thirds of benign tumors occur in women aged 20-49, while less than two-thirds of malignant tumors occur in young and old women. In addition, there are some cysts called ovarian tumor-like lesions, which are mostly functional and no larger than about 10 cm in diameter. They can grow automatically or be absorbed and disappear naturally.

This condition is often discovered during a gynecological examination, but disappears when it is examined again after a period of time. Because it is often asymptomatic and does not require treatment, it is often ignored. It is only noticed when the cyst ruptures or the pedicle twists, causing acute abdominal pain.

The treatment of ovarian tumors is generally based on surgery. The surgical treatment plan is generally determined based on a comprehensive consideration of factors such as the patient's age, whether she is ready to have children, the nature and size of the tumor, etc.

If it is a malignant tumor, the general principle is to completely remove the uterus and both ovaries, so the patient will undoubtedly lose her fertility after the operation.

Experts point out that if it is a benign tumor, the diseased ovary can be completely removed while the healthy ovary can be retained. Alternatively, only the ovarian cyst can be removed while the cortex can be retained. This can preserve the function of the ovary, and the woman can have normal menstruation and conceive like an ordinary person in the future. At the same time, the beauty of the female body will not be lost.
