Thyroid cancer is a very common thyroid malignant tumor nowadays. It directly endangers people's life safety. It not only seriously affects the patient's physical health, but also brings great psychological pressure to the patient. Therefore, now everyone should promptly understand some relevant information about thyroid cancer and do relevant treatment. So, what is thyroid cancer? What is thyroid cancer? Thyroid cancer is the most common thyroid malignancy, which originates from thyroid epithelial cells. It accounts for about 1.3% to 1.5% of malignant tumors in the body, and has been increasing in recent years. Except for medullary carcinoma, most thyroid cancers originate from follicular epithelial cells. According to pathological types, they can be divided into papillary carcinoma (60%), follicular adenocarcinoma (20%), undifferentiated carcinoma (15%), and medullary carcinoma (7%). Among them, papillary carcinoma has early cervical lymph node metastasis, but the prognosis is better; follicular adenocarcinoma tumors grow faster, are moderately malignant, and are easy to metastasize through blood circulation; undifferentiated carcinoma has a very poor prognosis, with an average survival time of 3 to 6 months. Clinically, thyroid cancer is sometimes difficult to distinguish from thyroid adenoma or nodular goiter, and treatment is also difficult, so it needs to be taken seriously. In addition, there may be malignant tumors or metastatic cancer of the lymphatic system, as well as rare primary squamous cell carcinoma of the thyroid, thyroid sarcoma, and malignant teratoma. Among thyroid cancers, papillary carcinoma is more common in clinical practice. The incidence of thyroid nodules varies due to the influence of the surveyed population, but it is generally believed that benign thyroid nodules are common diseases. At present, there are no accurate statistical data on the incidence of thyroid nodules in my country. Data from the United States show that 4% to 7% of adults can find thyroid nodules during physical examinations, and more thyroid nodules can be found through ultrasound examination of the thyroid or autopsy, which can be as high as 30% to 50%. However, the incidence of malignant nodules among thyroid nodules is only 1% to 5%, and can account for about 14% of thyroid tumors in thyroid surgery. There are also reports that thyroid cancer accounts for about 1.3% of malignant tumors in the whole body, 73% in women and 27% in men, and is related to exogenous radiation. The above is a corresponding introduction to thyroid cancer. In fact, the treatment of thyroid cancer must be understood accordingly, otherwise it will not be able to achieve a good treatment effect in the end. Otherwise, it is very likely to go astray in treatment. I hope these can help everyone. |
