What is the diagnostic process for prostate cancer

What is the diagnostic process for prostate cancer

The development of prostate cancer also has its own steps. Whether in terms of physical manifestations or the complications of the entire cancer, it is very influential. Everyone must pay attention to the prevention and diagnosis of this disease. There are also corresponding processes worth understanding during diagnosis.

The cause of prostate cancer is not very clear, but it is related to endocrine abnormalities. People without testicles will not develop prostate cancer. In addition, it is related to gonococcal prostatitis, viral infection or chlamydia infection and strong sexual activity. When elderly people suffer from prostate cancer, most of the clinical manifestations are similar to prostate hypertrophy, with difficulty in urination as the main symptom. When the bladder or urethra is invaded, hematuria may occur. When elderly people have difficulty urinating, they should seek medical attention in time. Doctors can generally diagnose prostate cancer through the following procedures:

1. Digital rectal examination

Careful rectal examination is important for the diagnosis and staging of prostate cancer.

(ii) Ultrasound examination

It is beneficial for the early diagnosis and efficacy observation of prostate cancer.

3. Laboratory examination

1. Blood acid phosphatase. About 70% of prostate cancer patients have elevated blood acid phosphatase.

2. Tests such as blood alkaline phosphatase, lactate dehydrogenase, carcinoembryonic antigen and prostate-specific antigen lack specificity and are only used for screening tests.

(IV) Pathological examination

1. Transrectal needle aspiration cytology.

2. Transperineal needle aspiration cytology examination.

3. Transrectal prostate puncture biopsy under ultrasound, this method is more accurate.

(V) Further

1. Take a bone X-ray to see if there is any metastasis.

2. Urinary tract angiography to understand the condition of the upper urinary tract and local lesions.

3. CT and MRI examinations are helpful for staging local tumors.

4. Lymph node resection and pathological examination to understand the stage and determine the treatment plan.

The above are different diagnostic steps for prostate cancer. If you find that you have a problem, you must find a treatment method from it. Let more people understand the development problems and unique manifestations of prostate cancer. Let more people experience some diagnostic methods and diagnostic steps for prostate cancer.
