What are the symptoms of skin fibroma and how to treat it

Dermatofibroma can be treated by surgical excision, laser therapy and cryotherapy. Its formation is mainly related to skin trauma, chronic inflammatory stimulation and genetic factors. Dermatofibroma is a benign skin tumor. Common symptoms include hard nodules on the surface of the skin, darkening of color and mild itching or pain.

1. Skin trauma is one of the main causes of skin fibroma. When the skin is slightly injured by scratches, friction or insect bites in daily life, fibroma may form in the local tissue during the repair process. Avoiding skin trauma and treating wounds in time can effectively reduce the risk of disease.

2. Chronic inflammatory stimulation is also closely related to its occurrence. Long-standing inflammatory diseases such as eczema and folliculitis may stimulate the proliferation of skin tissue, thus forming fibroids. Keeping the skin clean and treating inflammatory diseases in time can help prevent it.

3. Genetic factors play an important role in some patients, and the incidence rate is higher in people with a family history. For people with a genetic tendency, regular skin examinations are necessary.

4. The typical symptoms of cutaneous fibroma are small hard nodules on the skin surface, which are usually less than 1 cm in diameter and may be slightly darker than the surrounding skin, brown or black in color. Some patients may feel slight itching or pain when touched.

5. Surgical excision is the main method for treating skin fibroma, especially for larger fibroma or fibroma that affects appearance, surgery can completely remove the lesion. Laser treatment is suitable for smaller fibroma, which destroys the tumor tissue through laser energy, with less trauma and faster recovery. Cryotherapy uses the low temperature effect of liquid nitrogen to cause the tumor to necrotize and fall off, which is suitable for treating superficial fibroma.

Although cutaneous fibroma is a benign tumor, if symptoms such as rapid enlargement, color change, or increased pain occur, you should seek medical attention promptly to rule out the possibility of malignancy. Early diagnosis and treatment are the key to ensuring skin health.
