TCM Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment of Type 2 Advanced Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic cancer is a common pancreatic malignant tumor with a very high incidence in my country. Traditional Chinese medicine has always had its unique and outstanding therapeutic effects in the treatment of cancer. Pancreatic cancer can be treated according to the following classifications based on TCM syndrome differentiation.

Damp-heat toxicity type

Symptoms: more common in middle and late stage pancreatic cancer, patients experience fever, thirst, upper abdominal distension, stabbing pain in the hypochondrium, lumps can be felt with deep pressure, dark jaundice, even dark green jaundice, itchy skin, nausea and vomiting, dry or white stools, short and dark urine, yellow and greasy dry tongue coating, and stringy and rapid pulse.

Prescription: Gentiana scabra, Gardenia jasminoides, Scutellaria baicalensis, Coptis chinensis, Capillaris ternata, Rehmannia glutinosa, Bupleurum chinense, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Rhubarb, Taraxacum mongolicum, Oldenlandia diffusa, Smilax glabra, Coix seed, Poria cocos, Curcuma aromatica.

Usage: Decoction in water, 1 dose per day.

Qi and blood stasis type

Symptoms: Patients with mid- to late-stage pancreatic cancer may experience upper abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, poor appetite, lower abdominal lumps, dark complexion, emaciation and fatigue; thick and greasy tongue coating, dark purple tongue, and thin and wiry or stringy pulse.

Prescription: appropriate amounts of raw rehmannia, peach kernel, safflower, fructus aurantii, red peony root, licorice, Achyranthes bidentata, Ligusticum chuanxiong, Cyperus rotundus, safflower seed, Curcuma zedoaria, and Tianlong.

Usage: Decoction in water, 1 dose per day.
