First aid tips for daily life injuries

In our daily lives, we are bound to have some minor bumps and scrapes, especially parents with children at home, who have to worry about their hyperactive children every day. Today we will introduce to you some first aid methods for daily minor injuries so that parents no longer have to worry too much.

Foreign matter in the eye

Any small object or liquid, even a grain of sand or a drop of detergent, entering the eyes can cause eye pain or even damage the cornea.

First aid method: First, blink hard and frequently to flush out the foreign object with tears. If that doesn't work, hold your eyelids closed and rinse your eyes under the tap. Be sure to remove your contact lenses.

Absolutely prohibited: Do not rub your eyes. No matter how small the foreign object is, it can scratch the cornea and cause infection. If a foreign object gets deeper into the eye, seek medical attention immediately and have a doctor treat it.

Sound the alarm: If corrosive liquid splashes into your eyes, you must go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment immediately; if your eyes are still uncomfortable after self-treatment, such as burning, edema or blurred vision, you need to ask a doctor to use professional equipment for treatment, and do not act rashly.

sprain

A sprain occurs when the ligaments around a joint are stretched too far, beyond their capacity to withstand, and is usually accompanied by bruising and swelling.

First aid: Within 24 hours of the sprain, try to apply ice packs every hour for half an hour each time. Wrap the injured area with an elastic compression bandage and elevate the injured area. After 24 hours, start applying hot compresses to the affected area to promote blood circulation in the injured area.

Absolutely prohibited: Do not move the injured joint at will, otherwise it will easily cause ligament tear, which will make recovery relatively difficult.

Sound the alarm: If the affected area is still painful and you have difficulty moving after a few days of self-treatment and rest, you may have a fracture, a muscle strain, or a ligament rupture, and you need to go to the hospital immediately.

Nosebleeds

Nosebleeds are caused by ruptured blood vessels in the nasal cavity. The blood vessels in the nose are very fragile, so nosebleeds are a common minor accident.

First aid: Lean forward slightly and pinch the cartilage under the bridge of the nose with your fingers for about 5-15 minutes.

If conditions permit, placing a small ice pack on the bridge of your nose can also quickly stop bleeding.

Absolutely prohibited: Tilt your head back forcefully, which will cause nosebleeds to flow into your mouth. In a panic, some of the blood will inevitably be sucked into your lungs. This is neither safe nor hygienic.

Sound the alarm: If nose bleeding continues for 20 minutes and still cannot be stopped, the patient should go to the hospital immediately to seek medical help. If nosebleeds occur too frequently and for no apparent reason, or are accompanied by other symptoms such as headaches, tinnitus, decreased vision, and dizziness, you must go to the hospital for treatment, as this may be a concussion or severe injury to the brain.

These are the first aid tips we have prepared for you. Don’t you think they are simple and practical? When a child is injured, our parents should remain calm, analyze the extent of the child’s injury, and treat the child in a timely manner to ensure the child’s health and safety.
