Chinese herbal medicine that promotes digestion and absorption

The human digestive system is generally divided into two major parts, including the digestive tract and the digestive glands. The digestive tract is composed of the mouth, throat, esophagus and stomach. In daily life, many people have particularly bad gastrointestinal problems, so digestion and absorption are not particularly good. There are also many drugs on the market that help digestion and absorption, but all medicines are toxic. However, traditional Chinese medicine is relatively better. Let's take a look at the traditional Chinese medicines that can promote digestion and absorption.

1. Buddha's hand is the fruit of the bergamot plant of the Rutaceae family.

Efficacy: Soothes the liver and regulates qi, harmonizes the stomach, and resolves phlegm.

Pharmacological action: It has antispasmodic, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, cardiac excitation inhibitory and blood pressure lowering effects.

Dosage: 15-45 grams for horses and cattle; 6-15 grams for pigs and sheep; 5-10 grams for dogs.

Applied research: The alcohol extract has a significant inhibitory effect on the isolated rat intestine, and has the same effect on the in vivo intestine of rabbits and cats. It has a significant antispasmodic effect on rabbit duodenal spasm caused by acetylcholine, but has a poor effect on that caused by barium chloride. Therefore, it is believed that its inhibitory effect is related to the choleretic nerves.

2 Magnolia officinalis, effects: promoting qi and drying dampness, relieving adverse reactions and relieving asthma.

Pharmacological action: The decoction has a stimulatory effect on the isolated intestine and bronchi of rabbits, and an stimulatory effect on the isolated intestine of mice and guinea pigs at lower concentrations, but turns to inhibition at high concentrations; in addition, it has muscle relaxant, anti-ulcer, anti-pathogen, anti-inflammatory, and central nervous system inhibitory effects.

Dosage: 25-45 grams for horses and cattle; 30-60 grams for camels; 6-10 grams for pigs and sheep; 3-5 grams for dogs; 1.5-3 grams for rabbits and poultry.

Applied research: 100g each of hawthorn, Shenqu, Magnolia officinalis, Amomum villosum, Areca nut, Atractylodes lancea, 200g of malt, 80g of Akebia, 60g of Chuanjun, 30g each of dried tangerine peel and licorice, 1000g each of earthworms and sucrose. 0.6g was added every 3 days to rabbits, and the weight gain rate increased by 30.7%; 31 fragrant Chinese herbal medicines such as Magnolia officinalis, cloves, and Artemisia argyi were processed and crushed and added to the daily diet of broiler chickens in the experimental group at 1%. The experimental period was 35 days, and the average weight gain of the experimental group was 4.24% higher than that of the control group, and the survival rate was 2% higher; 80g of Atractylodes lancea, 50g each of Magnolia officinalis and dried tangerine peel, and 30g of licorice were ground into powder. Pigs were given 30-60g each time to treat loss of appetite and indigestion; 90g each of Areca nut, hawthorn, Atractylodes lancea, dried tangerine peel, 60g of Magnolia officinalis, and 15g of licorice have good effects on slow forestomach in cattle. The dose for calves should be reduced as appropriate.

Generally speaking, the whole process from food being eaten into the mouth to being completely digested by the stomach takes about two to five hours. Then, it takes another four to eight hours from the stomach to the small intestine and for the small intestine to completely digest it. So this is a long process. If some of you have poor intestinal health, you can try the above-mentioned Chinese medicine conditioning. I believe the results will surprise you.
