What is hypothermia? What is hypothermia therapy? Usually, it refers to a treatment method. It is not uncommon in today's medical treatment. There are many situations that require this treatment. If you don't know much about it, you might as well follow this article to see what it means? What is its efficacy? In what situations do we need to use it? Hypothermia therapy: It is a method of treating diseases by lowering the patient's body temperature to the desired level through physical means. Depending on the treatment temperature, it is divided into deep hypothermia therapy, low temperature therapy, mild hypothermia therapy, etc. In recent years, foreign countries have taken the lead in using mild hypothermia (30-35℃) to treat patients with cerebral ischemia, cerebral hypoxia and cerebral hemorrhage, and have achieved remarkable research results. Studies have found that mild hypothermia regulates cerebral blood flow, reduces brain oxygen metabolism rate and improves cellular energy metabolism, reduces the release of excitatory amino acids, reduces the generation of oxygen free radicals, reduces intracellular calcium overload, increases the synthesis of neuronal ubiquitin, reduces neuronal necrosis and apoptosis, promotes the recovery of intercellular signal transduction, reduces the area of cerebral infarction, reduces cerebral edema and reduces intracranial pressure. The study also found that low temperature has no effect on blood pressure, blood oxygen partial pressure, carbon dioxide partial pressure, blood pH and blood sugar, and no pathological damage was found to the heart, lungs, kidneys and small intestine of experimental animals, indicating that low temperature does not increase damage to other tissues and organs. Mild hypothermia therapy is one of the treatment methods for neurological diseases, and the conditions for its application are mature. In the treatment of stroke, systemic or local surface cooling and moderate hypothermia are more commonly used. Our department has carried out clinical application research on mild hypothermia treatment for large-area cerebral infarction, mild hypothermia combined with minimally invasive intracranial hematoma puncture for the treatment of hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage, and mild hypothermia combined with continuous intravenous injection of nimotop for the treatment of severe subarachnoid hemorrhage. Patients with clinical encephalitis, high fever coma and central hyperthermia can all be treated with mild hypothermia, which is expected to improve the patient's prognosis and enhance the clinical efficacy. Neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is a serious complication of neonatal asphyxia. It is characterized by severe illness, high mortality rate, and permanent neurological dysfunction. The incidence of hypoxic ischemic brain damage caused by asphyxia can be as high as 57%, and its mortality rate and sequelae incidence rate are as high as 30%. In recent years, mild hypothermia therapy (lowering brain temperature by 2-4°C) has a significant protective effect on hypoxic-ischemic brain damage, which has attracted the attention of scholars at home and abroad. If a newborn suffers from neonatal asphyxia, mild hypothermia treatment should be applied early, the sooner the better, and the temperature should be lowered quickly. The treatment time is about 72 hours I believe that everyone who has seen it already knows what it is. Yes, it is actually a treatment method, and it is only available in modern times. After some academic research, this treatment method has good clinical efficacy. We need to use it in certain specific environments. This is an advanced treatment method. I believe that in future medical treatment, it can also help mankind overcome difficulties. |
