Is the ten-year survival rate of kidney cancer below 4 cm high?

Is the ten-year survival rate high for kidney cancer less than 4 cm?

The 10-year survival rate for kidney cancer less than 4 cm varies from person to person. If the patient is actively treated and has good physical fitness, the 10-year survival rate is relatively high. On the contrary, if the patient is not treated in time and is physically weak, the patient may not be able to survive for 10 years.

Kidney cancer is a malignant lesion that originates from the renal tubular epithelium. Common symptoms include hematuria, pain, and lumps. If the tumor invades the renal pelvis and calyx, symptoms of low back pain will also occur. Depending on the size of the tumor, it can be divided into four stages. Kidney cancer tumors smaller than 4 cm, with no diffuse lymph node or distant organ metastasis, are generally classified as early stage I tumors, i.e., early stages of the disease. At this time, the patient may not have obvious clinical symptoms, and the damage to the kidneys is small, and can be treated by surgical removal of the diseased tissue. Generally speaking, such patients have a low postoperative recurrence rate and an extremely high 10-year survival rate after surgery.

Some patients do not pay attention to kidney cancer when it is less than 4 cm. If it is not effectively treated, the tumor will gradually increase and even develop into stage II or III kidney cancer. During this period, regional lymph nodes will be affected, which may involve the renal vein, inferior vena cava, lymph nodes, etc. This situation is more serious and may require radical nephrectomy. It is easy to relapse after surgery, which will affect the patient's survival time.

Kidney cancer patients should cooperate with doctors to actively receive scientific treatment and build confidence in fighting the disease. They should also pay attention to a healthy diet and a balanced intake of nutrients to help improve their disease resistance.
