Acupuncture points for regulating the stomach and intestines

What to do if you have a bad stomach

1. First, the Zhongwan point

Zhongwan point is a very important acupuncture point in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. It is located in the center of the line connecting the lower end of the sternum and the navel, approximately one palm above the navel. When doing acupressure, lie on your back, relax your muscles, exhale slowly while pressing down hard with your fingers, remove your hands after 6 seconds, and repeat 10 times. This will make your stomach feel comfortable. When you have stomach pain, the Zhongwan acupressure method is more effective.

2. The second is Tianshu point

This point is located two thumb widths to the left and right of the navel. The patient can lie flat on the bed and press down and massage this area with the middle three fingers for about 2 minutes. The main diseases treated by Tianshu point include indigestion, nausea and vomiting, bloating, diarrhea, abdominal pain, etc.

3. Next is Zusanli

The Zusanli point is located four finger widths below the outer kneecap and on the edge of the tibia. Below the kneecap, you can feel a bump (lateral tibial condyle), and from there, a little further out and slightly downward, there is another bump (capitulum of the fibula). The line connecting these two convex bones forms an equilateral triangle with the base pointing downward. The vertex of the equilateral triangle is the Zusanli point. Press for 6 seconds and then remove your hands, repeat 10 times. This can promote the secretion of gastric acid, make the stomach feel comfortable, and also have a pain-relieving effect.

4. Abdominal massage therapy should be used later

Sit or lie down, place your palms together on the abdomen below the navel, and massage in a clockwise direction with the navel as the center for about 3-5 minutes. Stand up and take a short walk. It is usually best to do this half an hour after a meal.

How to treat a bad stomach
