How to correct pouty lips?

Since many people have very ugly lip shapes, some factors may cause their lips to be upturned or turned outward. Some are caused by congenital maldevelopment, which leads to lip deformities. This situation must be corrected in time, otherwise it will cause a lot of trouble. In terms of correction methods, you can use correctors or surgical methods for treatment. Nowadays, all surgeries are minimally invasive. Consult a doctor before doing it, and symptomatic treatment can effectively correct the lip deformities.

1. Factors causing poor lip shape:

In addition to congenital malformations such as macrostomia, cleft lip and palate, hemifacial dysplasia and facial cleft, genetic factors, various burns, traumatic surgery and lip tattoos can all cause poor lip shape.

2. Aesthetic lip shape:

The shape of the lips varies depending on race, age, gender and genetics. Asians belong to the Mongoloid race, and their lip shape is very different from that of white people in Europe and America and black people in Africa. Generally speaking, the lower part of the face can be divided into three parts: upper lip, lower lip and mandible, and the ratio of their heights is 1:1:1. The upper lip refers to the area from the upper lip edge to the bottom of the nose, the lower lip refers to the area from the upper edge of the lower lip to the depression between the lower lip and the mandible (mentiolabial groove), and the rest is the mandible.

To judge the shape of lips, you should look at them from the front and side:

The upper lip of a beautiful woman is arched when viewed from the front, with a symmetrical red edge called the red-rimmed arch. Asians' red lips and cheekbones are generally lighter in color and have unclear outlines. The lip tattoo we often mention is to solve the problem of red lip outline and color. There is a shallow groove in the middle of the philtrum, which is called the philtrum. The red lips just below the philtrum are nodular and are called the lip bead. Many patients with congenital cleft lip and trauma often lose the normal morphology of the philtrum and arch of the lip.

Viewed from the side, the upper lip is thinner and wider than the lower lip, and lightly covers the lower lip, protruding slightly. The length (height) of the upper lip is similar to the height of the nose tip and forms a 90-degree angle with the columella. In terms of gender, men's lips are thick and wide, while women's lips are small and thin, which is beautiful. The height of the upper lip skin of an adult male is about 2 to 2.45 cm, while that of women is 2 to 4 mm lower than that of men. When the lips are naturally relaxed, the maxillary central incisor is generally only exposed by 2 mm. When smiling, the crown of the tooth is partially exposed, but it is best not to exceed 2/3; when at rest, the height of the mouth cleft (the gap between the upper and lower lips) does not exceed 3 mm. In addition, the root of the nose, the front edge of the lower lip and the front edge of the mandible should be on the same vertical line, with the front edge of the upper lip 3.5 mm in front of this line, and the front edge of the lower lip (the most forward point) 2.2 mm in front of this line, otherwise it will result in "overbite" or "underbite".
