It has an inhibitory effect on the increase of total leukocytes and lymphocytes in peripheral blood and the decrease of neutrophil lymphocytes in rats with foot swelling caused by injection of formaldehyde.

The anti-inflammatory effect of tiger bone disappeared in rats with adrenalectomy and anesthesia with sodium pentobarbital. This suggests that the anti-inflammatory effect of tiger bones may be caused by affecting the function of the pituitary-adrenal cortex system through the nervous system.

Tiger bone glue has a certain degree of anti-inflammatory effect on formaldehyde-induced arthritis in rats. 10% tiger bone powder suspension has a significant inhibitory effect on formaldehyde-induced and egg white-induced arthritis in rats, but is ineffective against experimental arthritis in rats with adrenalectomy or under anesthesia. Therefore, it is believed that its anti-inflammatory effect is caused by affecting the function of the adrenal cortex through the nervous system; in addition, it can also reduce the permeability of rabbit capillaries, which may also be related to the anti-inflammatory effect.

2. Analgesic effect Tiger bone glue has a good analgesic effect. The experimental results of photothermal stimulation of rat tails showed that oral administration of tiger bone glue can increase the pain threshold of animals and delay the occurrence of pain response.

3. Sedative effect: Gavage of tiger bone glue to mice can reduce their spontaneous activities, showing a certain sedative effect.

4. Other effects: Oral administration of tiger bone glue (1 g/kg) to mice has a certain sedative effect within 2 hours (cage shaking method). Mice were gavaged with tiger bone powder suspension (1 g/kg or 2 g/kg) daily and observed for 2 weeks. No toxicity was found and there was no obvious effect on growth.
