Symptoms of liquefied gas poisoning

Liquefied gas is a gas that is often used in people's lives. Especially when people are cooking, they often use liquefied gas. However, liquefied gas can easily cause poisoning after use. Because liquefied gas is prone to leakage, which is caused by improper use. Liquefied gas tanks are frequently used by everyone, so leakage is also due to problems in the use of this liquefied gas tank. What are the symptoms of liquefied gas poisoning?

1. Mild poisoning. Patients may experience headache, dizziness, insomnia, blurred vision, tinnitus, severe vomiting, general fatigue, tachycardia, short-term fainting, and blood carboxyhemoglobin levels of 10%-20%.

2. Moderate poisoning. In addition to the aggravation of the above symptoms, the lips, nails, and skin mucosa appear cherry red, there is excessive sweating, blood pressure first increases and then decreases, the heart rate accelerates, arrhythmia, irritability, and a temporary separation of sensation and movement (that is, the person can still think but cannot move). If the symptoms continue to worsen, drowsiness and coma may occur. The carbon hemoglobin in the blood is about 30%-40%. With timely rescue, the patient can wake up quickly, and there are generally no complications or sequelae.

3. Severe poisoning. The patient quickly fell into a coma. In the early stage, the muscle tone of the limbs increases or there is chronic tonic spasm; in the late stage, the muscle tone decreases significantly, the patient's face becomes pale or cyanotic, blood pressure drops, and pupils dilate. He eventually died of respiratory paralysis.

4. Those who survive rescue have serious complications and sequelae. Sequelae include hemiplegia, dementia, etc.

3. What to do if you find someone poisoned by liquefied gas

1. Close the liquefied gas valve, let the patient leave the poisoning environment as soon as possible, move to an open and ventilated place outdoors, and immediately open doors and windows to circulate air.

2. Electric lights, telephones, mobile phones and other items can only be used after the air flow is circulated.

3. Loosen the patient's clothes, keep the airway open, clear the oral and nasal secretions, ensure the patient can breathe independently, and provide sufficient oxygen inhalation.

4. If breathing and heartbeat stop, artificial respiration and cardiac compression should be performed immediately.

5. Check the patient's breathing, pulse and blood pressure in the shortest possible time.

6. Once the condition stabilizes, escort the patient to the hospital as soon as possible for further examination and treatment.

7. Try to receive hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatment as early as possible to reduce sequelae. Even mild or moderate cases should be treated with hyperbaric oxygen chamber.
