I don't urinate much but I can't hold it in urgently

As the pressure in real life continues to increase, many people are prone to physical health problems due to long-term physical busyness. Inability to hold urine is also a common urinary system disease. This may be a symptom caused by inflammation or infection of the urethra. It needs to be checked and treated in time, and you need to pay more attention to the condition.

Why can't I hold my urine but not urinate much?

Is frequent urination

Urinary frequency refers to increased urination. A normal adult urinates an average of 4 to 6 times a day during the day and 0 to 2 times at night after going to bed; an infant urinates 20 to 30 times during the day and night. If the frequency of urination increases significantly and exceeds the above range, it is frequent urination. There are many reasons for frequent urination, which can be summarized as follows:

(1) Increased urine volume: When urine volume increases, the frequency of urination will also increase accordingly. Under physiological conditions, such as drinking a lot of water, eating watermelon, and drinking beer, due to the increase in water intake, the urine volume increases through the regulation and filtration of the kidneys, and the frequency of urination also increases, resulting in frequent urination. Under pathological conditions, such as some patients with diabetes and diabetes insipidus, they drink a lot of water, urinate a lot, and urinate frequently. But there was no discomfort in urination.

(2) Inflammatory stimulation: When there is inflammation in the bladder, the nerve perception threshold is lowered, the urinary center is in an excited state, resulting in frequent urination and reduced urine volume (<300-500 ml/time in adults). Therefore, frequent urination is an important symptom of cystitis, especially in acute cystitis and tuberculous cystitis. Other conditions such as prostatitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, chronic balanoposthitis in children, vulvitis, etc. can also cause frequent urination. Under the stimulation of inflammation, frequent urination, urgency and pain often occur at the same time, which is called urinary tract irritation sign, commonly known as "triuria sign".

(3) Non-inflammatory irritation: such as urinary stones and foreign bodies, usually with frequent urination as the main manifestation.

(4) Decreased bladder capacity: such as bladder space-occupying lesions, compression from the enlarged uterus during pregnancy, tuberculous bladder contracture, or large bladder stones.

(5) Psychoneural urinary frequency: Frequent urination only occurs during the day or before falling asleep at night, and is often caused by mental stress or seen in patients with hysteria. This may also be accompanied by urinary urgency and pain.

Traditional Chinese medicine lists frequent urination as one of the symptoms of "kidney deficiency". Indeed, when a person's physical condition deteriorates, he or she is prone to frequent urination, which is also likely to be accompanied by a decline in sexual function.

The bladder is a hollow container composed of smooth muscle. Its function is to store urine, and it has good elasticity. When the urine reaches a certain amount and the pressure it generates exceeds the tolerance of the bladder, people will feel the urge to urinate. When physical fitness and sexual function decline, the androgen level in the body decreases, and the muscle fiber tension of the bladder smooth muscle also decreases, which reduces the elasticity of the bladder. When the amount of urine accumulated is no more than in the past, the pressure it generates is the same as before, which creates a need to urinate and results in frequent urination.

If frequent urination occurs but the amount of urine excreted each time is not much (except for urinary tract infection), it is caused by the above reasons. If you experience frequent urination and a large amount of urine, you should be alert to the possibility of diabetes, early uremia, etc. At this time, you should go to the hospital for further examination.
