How to clean the range hood at home

In modern society, cooking in the kitchen is inseparable from the range hood. However, if the range hood is not cleaned for a long time, a lot of dirt will accumulate. If the dirt accumulates too much, it may clog the range hood, and the range hood will not achieve the desired effect. It is even possible that some old-fashioned range hoods have not been cleaned and maintained for a long time, which eventually leads to aging of the circuits and possible leakage of electricity.

Take a plastic bottle (any beverage bottle that can be flattened by hand will do), use a sewing needle to poke more than 10 small holes on the lid, then put in an appropriate amount of detergent, fill it with warm water and shake it evenly. Start the range hood and use a plastic bottle filled with detergent to spray the cleaning liquid onto the area to be cleaned. At this time, you can see the oil and dirty water flowing into the oil storage bucket together, pouring it out as it is full. After the cleaning solution in the bottle is used up, continue to prepare and repeat the cleaning. Continue until the dirty water becomes clear. Depending on the degree of dirt, it usually takes 3 rinses to clean it. If there is a mesh cover on the fan blades, it is advisable to remove the mesh cover first to enhance the washing effect. Use a rag to clean the area around the air inlet, the housing surface, the lampshade, etc.

Detergent and vinegar soaking method: Remove the range hood impeller and soak it in a basin of warm water mixed with 3 to 5 drops of detergent and 50 ml of vinegar. Soak for 10 to 20 minutes and then wipe with a clean cloth. Also use this solution to clean other parts such as the outer shell. This method does not cause damage to human skin, does not corrode devices, and the surface still maintains its original gloss. When restoring the installation, be careful to maintain the original angle of the oil channel (pipe).

The above is just a brief introduction to some methods of cleaning range hoods. It is important to note here that most range hoods require electricity. Since range hoods are placed in a humid environment for a long time, these circuits are likely to be corroded or even damaged and leak electricity. Therefore, before cleaning the range hood, be sure to turn off the power first. It is best to ask a professional cleaner to clean the range hood.
