Alkali neutrophils are high, here are some things to know

Alkaliphils are also one of the cells that people don’t understand well. Any cell has a normal value, and exceeding the normal range may be a physical abnormality. High levels of alkaliphils also have certain effects on the body. Patients with elevated alkaliphilic granulocytes may experience allergic symptoms.

1. Allergy symptoms

Generally, high alkaliphilic granulocytes indicate allergic symptoms. For example, in cases of rhinitis, urticaria, or parasitic infestation, alkaliphilic granulocytes or eosinophils may be elevated. Guidance: Allergic diseases will show elevated eosinophils or alkaliphilic granulocytes, but elevated eosinophils or alkaliphilic granulocytes are not necessarily allergic manifestations, so no diagnosis can be made based on this item alone without other evidence.

2. Clinical significance

Alkaliphilic granulocytes originate from hematopoietic pluripotent stem cells in the bone marrow, and enter the bloodstream after differentiation and maturation in the bone marrow. The normal value is a percentage of 0~0.01 or (0%-1%). The absolute value is 0~0.1 109/L. Alkaliphilic granulocytes are seen in alkaliphilic leukemia (rare), chronic myeloid leukemia is also often accompanied by an increase in alkaliphilic granulocytes, myelofibrosis, metal poisoning such as lead, mercury, silver, bismuth, and poisoning by aniline, nitrobenzene, etc., hemolytic anemia, megaloblastic anemia, chronic hemolysis such as malignant tumors, and after splenectomy. Alkaliphilic granulocytes are reduced because the reference value of alkaliphilic granulocytes in peripheral blood is very low, so its reduction has no clinical significance. Alkaliphilic granulocytes are also not clinically significant.

3. Others

Under normal circumstances, the normal percentage of alkaliphils is 0-1%. Guidance: High alkaliphils may be an allergic disease, drug or food hypersensitivity reaction. Alkaliphils can also be seen in other blood diseases, tumors, diabetes, infectious diseases such as influenza, etc. It should be combined with clinical diagnosis.
