What is a low fever? Common knowledge you must know

Cold is a very common disease, and fever is often accompanied by cold. Fever can be divided into high fever and low fever. Most people are not very clear about the degree of low fever. There are all kinds of degrees. The degrees given by some people may cause misunderstanding, which may delay everyone's treatment. Let me tell you about the degrees of low-grade fever.

The average normal human body temperature is between 36 and 37 degrees Celsius (axillary). Exceeding this range is fever, below 38 degrees Celsius is low fever, and above 39 degrees Celsius is high fever. The above is dangerous.

When measuring body temperature, you should first shake the mercury column on the thermometer to below 35°C, and then wipe and disinfect it with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. Nowadays, most people test the temperature by holding the thermometer under the armpit. For young or unconscious children, the rectal temperature can be measured.

When measuring the temperature under the armpit, wipe off the sweat in the armpit first, then place the end of the thermometer with the mercury column under the armpit and clamp it, then take it out after 5 minutes. When measuring rectal temperature, first apply some oil on the round tip of the rectal thermometer for lubrication, then slowly insert it into the anus to a depth of about 2 cm, and remove it after 3 minutes. When measuring rectal temperature, hold the thermometer with your hand to prevent the child from breaking the thermometer and injuring the anus.

When looking at a thermometer, you should hold it horizontally and rotate it slowly, taking the horizontal line to observe the temperature scale indicated by the mercury column. After use, the thermometer should be disinfected with 75% alcohol.

The normal body temperature is generally higher in the morning than in the afternoon. The morning temperature of a one-month-old baby is 0.25℃ higher than in the afternoon, the morning temperature of a six-month-old baby is 0.5℃ higher than in the afternoon, and the temperature of a baby over one year old is 1℃ higher. If a child's temperature is measured, a temperature no higher than 37°C on an oral scale and 37.6°C on a rectal scale is considered normal. An oral thermometer is a thermometer that measures body temperature in the mouth. If a child has a fever, he or she needs prompt treatment.
