Rash is a skin disease that is very common in life. Almost everyone has had a rash. Measles is a more serious type of rash, which puts a lot of pressure on people's image. Measles develops quickly and lasts a long time, so it takes a long time for patients to be treated. Measles is also highly contagious and can be spread almost entirely through the air. Measles is particularly prone to attacking children, which can have very adverse consequences on their health. Therefore, if you get measles, you must concentrate on treating it. Let’s take a look at how to treat measles infection. I hope everyone can understand. Measles is one of the most common acute respiratory infectious diseases in children. It is highly contagious and prone to epidemics in densely populated areas where vaccination is not universal, with an epidemic occurring every 2 to 3 years. Measles virus is a paramyxovirus that is transmitted through respiratory secretions and droplets. Clinically, the disease is characterized by fever, upper respiratory tract inflammation, conjunctivitis, red maculopapular rash on the skin, and measles mucosal spots on the buccal mucosa. After the rash subsides, pigmentation and bran-like desquamation remain. It is often complicated by respiratory diseases such as otitis media, laryngotracheitis, pneumonia, measles encephalitis, subacute sclerosing panencephalitis and other serious complications. There is currently no specific drug treatment. 1. General treatment Isolate, rest in bed, maintain appropriate temperature and humidity in the room, and ventilate frequently to keep the air fresh. When there are symptoms of photophobia, the light in the room should be soft; give easily digestible, nutritious food and replenish sufficient water; keep the skin and mucous membranes clean, and the mouth should be kept moist and clean. You can rinse your mouth with salt water and repeat it several times a day. Once a rash appears on the palms and soles of the feet, it means that the rash has completely broken out and the patient has entered the recovery period. Observe your condition closely and see a doctor immediately if complications occur. 2. Symptomatic treatment In case of high fever, a small amount of antipyretic can be used; in case of irritability, sedatives such as phenobarbital can be given appropriately; in case of severe cough, antitussive and anti-inflammatory drugs can be used; and in case of secondary bacterial infection, antibiotics can be given. Children with measles have a high requirement for vitamin A. The World Health Organization recommends that children with measles in vitamin A-deficient areas should supplement vitamin A. |
