Nowadays, contact lenses have added the function of beauty contact lenses, so they are very popular among young people. So from a medical point of view, are there any differences in the effects of contact lenses compared to frame glasses? Do contact lenses all have degrees? How are these degrees calculated?

Do contact lenses have degrees? The answer is of course yes, because contact lenses are used to correct vision and protect the eyes.

The degree of contact lenses is generally 100~900 degrees, which can only meet the needs of people with normal myopia. If you have severe myopia, you will need customized contact lenses.

The degree of contact lenses and frame glasses cannot be confused, because the imaging principles of contact lenses and frame glasses are different. Generally, the degree of contact lenses is lower than that of frame glasses. The conversion formula is: contact lens diopter = frame glasses diopter ÷ (1-0.012 × frame glasses diopter). 1 diopter is equivalent to 100 degrees. The diopter of myopia is a negative number, and the diopter of hyperopia is a positive number. 0.012 is the distance between the frame glasses and the highest point of the black eyeball, in meters. According to this formula, the degree of frame glasses and contact lenses can be calculated correctly.

Contact lens power conversion, contact lens and optometry power conversion. The degree of optometry is the degree of frame glasses. The degree of frame glasses is different from that of contact lenses. The distance between the back vertex of frame glasses and the cornea is about 12 mm for Asians. There is a conversion formula for the degree of contact lenses: contact lens diopter = frame glasses diopter ÷ (1-0.012×frame glasses diopter). 1 diopter is equivalent to 100 degrees as we usually say. The diopter of myopia is a negative number, and the diopter of hyperopia is a positive number. 0.012 is the distance between the frame glasses and the highest point of the eyeball, measured in meters.
