How to treat a family member suffering from psychological phobia

In recent years, with the increasing pressure of life and work, many people have developed various psychological diseases, and psychological phobia is one of them. So how can we treat psychological phobia to improve the condition? The main thing is to make good psychological adjustments.

first step

First of all, one must build up personal self-confidence. Many people who are socially nervous do so because they do not accept themselves and are not confident in themselves. Therefore, if you want to change, you must first accept and accept yourself in your heart and build up self-confidence. For patients with other phobias of scenes and objects, they can first avoid the feared objects and then gradually improve and adjust their psychology to gradually adapt.

Step 2

Use your surroundings to provide psychological cues and rebuild confidence. When stressful and frightening objects and environments appear in the patient's mind, the patient should promptly provide feedback to someone who can help rebuild confidence. (Relatives, friends, doctors, or even people you don’t know very well)

Step 3

People who help patients rebuild their confidence should keep a few points in mind. First, they should try to prove that the things that make patients nervous and afraid are not worth their worry and fear. They can also use examples to show that the things are harmless and gradually do it to enlighten the patients. Never lose patience or use simple and rough methods.

Step 4

Create appropriate and controllable opportunities and methods to allow patients to gradually adapt to the things they worry about and are nervous about. For example, the patient can be gradually exposed to the virus under controllable circumstances without informing him/her in advance. And let the person the patient trusts the most participate in the process of adaptation and contact with him/her, which will be of great help to the patient's psychological reconstruction of phobia.

Step 5

If the above four points are met and everything goes well, you can try to let the patient come into contact with the things he is worried or nervous about. However, it is important to provide psychological counseling and encouragement after the contact, so that the patient's confidence will not produce the effect of "fear accumulation" and thus affect the effectiveness of psychotherapy.
