The scar healing process usually takes about a week to fully recover. This depends on each of our individual care methods and the repair of our own skin. However, during the scar healing process, we should pay attention to wound care and hygiene to avoid infection. The scar healing process undergoes continuous changes from the bleeding phase, congestion phase, granulation phase and contraction phase until the skin is completely healed together. A wound forms when the integrity of tissue is disrupted. Healing is the process of restoring tissue integrity. All wounds, big or small, need a healing process. This process can be roughly divided into four stages: 1) Bleeding period: Local bleeding and exudation occur in the injured tissue gap, and the collagen in the blood promotes coagulation. As a result, a clot will form at the wound, which contains various cells and components of the blood. 2) Congestion stage: Due to the expansion of arterioles caused by chemicals in the tissue fluid or hypoxia, the blood flow and lymph flow will increase. Various blood cells and wandering cells will enter the damaged and inflamed areas. Macrophages that enter the inflamed area will come out to engulf bacteria. As a result, the engulfed bacteria, foreign matter and necrotic tissue gather into pus, which can be discharged from the body through the open wound. 3) Granulation stage: The proliferation of capillaries causes the wound to become red and bulge to form granulation tissue. During this granulation phase, autolysis, removal of necrotic tissue, and tissue regeneration occur simultaneously. Epithelial tissue proliferation. 4) Contraction stage: During this period, the cells covering the wound mature and cause the wound to contract, bringing the edges of the wound closer together and healing, eventually forming a scar. So that the wound heals. Wound healing is an ongoing process, and the above four stages are sometimes typical and sometimes overlap. Many of the current wound treatment dressings have different usage methods depending on the time of day. Therefore, we must pay attention to the healing process and carry out targeted treatment to provide the best care for the wound. |
