Then apply iodine tincture and antiseptic ointment (such as ichthyol ointment) on the wound.

The specific steps for piercing a nose ring are described above, and it is very simple. The piercing point should not be too far forward, otherwise it will be easily pulled off; it should not be too far back either, because the nerves at the back are not sensitive and the nose ring will be more difficult to pierce. After getting a nose ring, the cow should be allowed to rest for 1-2 days, and then the nose rope should be pulled frequently to lead the cow to a place with green grass for grazing, so that the cow can know the benefits of wearing a nose ring (having grass to eat), and gradually let the cow do some small farm work to train it to be docile. In the past, nose rings were made of iron, then copper, and now many places prefer stainless steel.

Nose rings are usually worn when the cattle are one year old (usually between 10 and 12 months old). The first record of cattle wearing nose rings dates back to the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period.
