Early symptoms of endometrial cancer

Early symptoms of endometrial cancer

Endometrial cancer is a group of epithelial malignant tumors that occur in the endometrium. The early symptoms may not be obvious, but as the disease progresses, some manifestations will gradually appear, including abnormal vaginal bleeding, vaginal discharge, lower abdominal pain, abdominal mass, weight loss, etc. If you have any discomfort, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time and take appropriate measures under the guidance of a doctor. The details are as follows:

1. Abnormal vaginal bleeding: This is the most common early symptom, which can be manifested as vaginal bleeding after menopause. Premenopausal women may experience menstrual disorders, including increased menstrual volume and prolonged menstrual period. If such symptoms occur, you should seek medical attention in time for gynecological examinations and ultrasound examinations. If it is confirmed to be early-stage endometrial cancer, surgical treatment is usually used, such as total hysterectomy plus bilateral adnexectomy, etc. Pelvic and para-aortic lymph node dissection may also be required depending on the condition.

2. Vaginal discharge: It is mostly bloody or serous secretions, the amount is generally not large, and sometimes it may be accompanied by a peculiar smell. If vaginal discharge occurs, you should also seek medical attention as soon as possible to determine the cause. For vaginal discharge caused by early endometrial cancer, surgical treatment is the main means of treatment. After surgery, it may be necessary to decide whether to use auxiliary radiotherapy, chemotherapy, etc. according to the pathological condition.

3. Lower abdominal pain: Some women may feel a dull pain in the lower abdomen. The pain is generally mild and may occur intermittently. A comprehensive examination should be conducted in a timely manner. If it is confirmed to be early endometrial cancer, the pain symptoms will usually be relieved after surgical removal of the tumor. For pain that may occur after surgery, symptomatic treatment can be given according to the specific situation.

4. Abdominal mass: It is generally difficult to feel an obvious mass in the early stage, but as the disease progresses, a mass may be felt in the abdomen. Once an abdominal mass is found, further examination should be performed immediately. For early endometrial cancer with abdominal mass, surgical removal of the tumor and possible invaded tissue is the key, and other treatments should be combined after surgery to reduce the risk of recurrence.

5. Weight loss: Unexplained weight loss may occur in the short term. Weight loss may be a manifestation of various diseases, and this symptom should be promptly checked. If it is diagnosed with early endometrial cancer, the primary disease should be actively treated, and the body condition can be improved through surgery and subsequent treatment, and the weight may gradually recover.

The early symptoms of endometrial cancer may be relatively hidden. When symptoms such as fatigue and weakness appear, you should be vigilant and seek medical attention for a comprehensive examination in time. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial to improving the survival rate and quality of life of endometrial cancer. Once early endometrial cancer is diagnosed, an individualized treatment plan should be formulated according to the specific situation, including comprehensive treatment measures such as surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy.
