What are the symptoms of mushroom poisoning and how to treat it?

Mushrooms are a very important ingredient in life. Because they are rich in nutritional value and have many functions, they are the perfect food for people who love health care. However, some mushrooms are highly toxic and can pose a threat to people's lives if consumed. Let's take a look at the symptoms of mushroom poisoning and how to deal with it. I hope everyone can understand.

1. Symptoms of gastroenteritis-type mushroom poisoning

This type of patient usually develops symptoms 10 minutes to 2 hours after eating mushrooms. Mild symptoms include weakness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and watery diarrhea. The symptoms subside quickly and the prognosis is good. However, in the event of poisoning, severe vomiting and diarrhea may cause a large loss of water and electrolytes, hemoconcentration, and even shock, coma, or symptoms of renal failure such as oliguria and anuria, and may leave serious sequelae such as renal insufficiency, mental retardation, and even death.

Mushrooms that produce such symptoms include: Red mushroom, Lactarius, Boletus, Amanita phalloides, Amanita muscaria, Moon mushroom, Amanita phalloides, and Ring mushroom.

2. Symptoms of neuropsychiatric mushroom poisoning

This type of patient usually appears 10 minutes to 6 hours after eating. In addition to gastroenteritis-type symptoms, they also have symptoms such as pupil constriction, increased salivation, excitement, hallucinations, and unsteady gait. Some patients die from respiratory or circulatory failure. Mushrooms that produce such symptoms include: Amanita muscaria, Amanita phalloides, Amanita muscaria, Amanita phalloides and Amanita oxypetalum.

3. Symptoms of hemolytic mushroom poisoning

This generally refers to the disease that occurs after accidentally eating agaricus. The patient's incubation period is 6 to 12 hours. Most of the time, after the symptoms of gastroenteritis, hemolysis will occur, and symptoms such as anemia, liver enlargement, yellow eyes, and urine like strong tea will appear. Some poisonous mushroom poisoning may cause bleeding phenomena such as purple spots on the skin, vomiting blood, blood in the stool, etc. due to thrombocytopenia. This type of poisoning can usually be cured by treating with corticosteroids and blood transfusions.

Emergency treatment: Because the incubation period of mushroom poisoning is long, and some symptoms of mushroom poisoning quickly worsen once they appear, you should go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment in time after eating suspected poisonous mushrooms. If you show symptoms, go to the hospital as soon as possible.
