Why does the outer left leg tendon hurt?

Why does the outer left leg tendon hurt?

Most of our friends have experienced leg cramps, which are usually caused by excessive exercise, calcium deficiency, or underwater. These are relatively common and are some of the most familiar types of leg cramps. These conditions will cause leg muscle pain. However, there are still many situations that we don’t know about. Below, I will introduce to you several situations that may cause leg cramps, as well as precautions.

The main causes of leg cramps are:

(1) Poor local circulation, peripheral vascular disease or varicose veins in the feet.

(2)Sudden change in ambient temperature.

(3) Excessive emotional tension.

(4) Excessive loss of water and salt causes electrolyte imbalance in the body.

(5) Insufficient minerals (such as magnesium and calcium) in the diet.

(6) The incidence of cramps will also increase in people with certain chronic diseases and pregnant women.

(7) Hypothyroidism, uremia or other physical illnesses.

(8) Motor neuron disease, spinal cord radiculopathy or peripheral neuropathy.

(9) Certain blood pressure and lipid-lowering drugs may also cause leg cramps.

(10) Unknown reasons.

How to reduce the chances of leg and foot cramps:

(1) Pay attention to calcium supplementation: During adolescence, calcium is relatively scarce, which is more likely to cause cramps.

(2) If you are prone to cramps at night, you should do stretching exercises on the areas prone to cramps before going to bed.

(3) Keep your calves warm when sleeping. You can put on more clothes to keep your hands and feet warm.

(4) Excessive drooping of the foot (drooping toward the sole of the foot) may induce calf cramps. Avoid letting your foot hang down too much while you sleep.

(5) There are reports in the literature that vitamin E can reduce the number of attacks, but there is no definitive conclusion yet.

(6) Folk remedies recommend pressing the Ren Zhong acupoint with your fingers, which can also be tried.

If you encounter sudden situations such as leg cramps in the future, don't panic. You can straighten and rub the cramped calf muscles, and pull the cramping sole of the foot upwards. Correct response to the situation can effectively avoid persistent pain in the later stages and prevent unnecessary injuries.
