Can I run the day before a physical examination?

We will undergo several physical examinations in our lives. When you are born, the doctor will check your physical health through a physical examination. In middle school, the school will also arrange doctors to do physical examinations for students. When you join the company, the company will also arrange physical examinations for new employees. Physical examinations allow us to discover the condition of our body in a timely manner, and if there is anything unusual in the body, we can seek medical treatment in time. There are also many things we need to pay attention to during a physical examination, such as can I run the day before the physical examination?

Although exercise is good for health, few people know that exercise can affect test results.

Exercise is generally divided into two categories: one is static exercise, which does not last long but has high-intensity movements, such as weightlifting, throwing a ball, etc., which can be carried out by utilizing the energy stored in the muscles; the other is dynamic exercise, which lasts for a long time and has not been very intense, such as long-distance running, swimming, and cycling, and the human body must generate a lot of heat to maintain it. Therefore, the amount of exercise has a certain impact on the examination items.

Due to strenuous exercise, large amounts of sweat evaporate and changes in hormone levels, the original balance of body fluids inside and outside the blood vessels is broken. For example, increased secretion of adrenal hormones and decreased secretion of insulin will cause drastic changes in certain chemical components in the blood and other body fluids. Excessive sweating can also cause increased levels of serum protein. Reduced urine excretion can increase the levels of creatinine and uric acid in the blood and urine, which has an obvious impact on urine screening for cancer.

Elevated creatine kinase activity in the blood is an important factor for doctors to diagnose myocardial infarction. For people who do not pay attention to exercise on a daily basis, their creatine kinase will increase significantly once they engage in some strenuous activity. For people who exercise regularly, although the increase in creatine kinase activity after strenuous exercise is not particularly obvious, some components in its composition are higher than those of ordinary people. Therefore, doctors should not easily diagnose people with myocardial infarction.

It can be seen from this that exercise will have an impact on various components in the blood, and strenuous exercise should be avoided before a physical examination.

You can exercise the night before a physical examination, which generally will not affect the results of the physical examination the next day. It is generally recommended to fast. It is best not to eat the next morning and then have a physical examination. Blood tests require fasting. Relax and don't put too much pressure on yourself. Develop good living habits, keep a regular schedule, don't overwork yourself, and eat more high-protein foods to replenish your blood.
