The ten major disadvantages of hot yoga

Yoga is actually a very good exercise. Nowadays, many urban white-collar workers like to practice yoga very much. Many people believe that yoga is not only good for the body, but also very helpful for the mind. As yoga becomes more popular, people begin to be exposed to hot yoga. In fact, Bikram Yoga is also known as hot yoga. Although many people think that hot yoga is very good, everyone should also be wary of the ten major disadvantages of hot yoga.

1. Hot yoga advocates say the negative effects are "zero": First of all, this statement itself is an absurd view and is unscientific. We know that there is nothing in this world that has "zero" negative effects. The existence of any thing is an essential phenomenon divided into two parts, and there is no absolute value.

2. Hot yoga needs to be practiced in a temperature between 38 and 42 degrees: We all know that the human body cannot survive in a high-temperature environment that exceeds its own temperature for a long time, and it is easy to produce phenomena such as slowness of consciousness and anxiety. Our country's labor department stipulates that when the temperature exceeds human body temperature, employers must reasonably arrange for staff to rest. Scientific experts once said: When people are in a high-temperature environment, their brains are more likely to develop diseases such as dementia. Physicians warn that exercising in an environment that exceeds the body's core temperature of 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit (about 39.3 degrees Celsius) is dangerous. In addition, we can learn from the map of the earth that any area near the equator of the hot earth is basically a smart poverty area.

3. Advocates of hot yoga believe that the purpose of hot yoga is to restore the temperature environment in the yoga areas of India; this argument has no scientific rationality. We can know that currently any artificial environment cannot replace the self-recognized environment. The natural environment contains various functions. If the hot yoga hall can replace or restore it, it has no other function except temperature! In India, the vast majority of yoga practitioners choose hot yoga, while those who practice it are a minority. If you want to restore the environment for practicing yoga, it would be best to be in nature. For example, the outdoor yoga environment currently being developed is a good example.

4. Advocates cite the argument of the founder of hot yoga: steel can be bent at will after being smelted at high temperatures. This is common sense, we all know it. But what practitioners don’t know is why steel can bend in a high temperature environment. The reason is that the physical and chemical reactions of high temperature change the original internal structure of the steel. The heat energy of fire is destructive. Only after the internal structure of steel has been destroyed and it undergoes multiple processing steps, can the steel be transformed into the effect we need. For example, a piece of bamboo can bend under the temperature of fire, but the structure itself is destroyed. But our human body is not as obedient as steel or bamboo; it has instinctive reactions, and the destructive effects caused by high temperature environment are even more severe.

5. Theory of sweating and detoxification in hot yoga: High temperature environment accelerates human metabolism, which is itself a kind of rapid consumption; sweating and detoxification through human body has only a very small effect, and the important ways of detoxification are "laxative" and "diuretic". In addition, partial detoxification can also be achieved by adjusting breathing and dietary structure. Dehydration is common when practicing "hot yoga" or doing any exercise in a very hot environment. Although it is possible to replenish water by drinking water, medical knowledge tells us that when a person needs to replenish water due to dehydration, the body itself has already been harmed. Sweating patterns vary. For example, sweating during yoga or other sports is an active body movement that complies with the body's sweating rules. It is a process by which the body's internal heat energy is generated and diffused outward through sweat, which is beneficial to health. Sweating in high temperatures is passive and goes against the body's sweating rules. Heat energy is induced from the outside to the inside. Exercising in such a high temperature environment will cause passive fatigue and loss of the body, which is very harmful to the body.

6. Weight loss through hot yoga: It is true that hot yoga can achieve some weight loss effects, but this effect is quick, and quick results often bring bad effects. It consumes the body's heat energy too quickly, which is a rapid consumption. We know that the body's consumption has its own regularity. The result of rapid artificial consumption is that it will also accelerate the aging of human organs and induce the sequelae of diseases.

7. Light wave heat energy in the hot yoga room: We all know that the heat energy of our human body is a kind of infrared light wave, which has the function of self-immunity regulation and can be adjusted and changed in four seasons. However, after being affected by artificial light waves, this function of our human body often declines rapidly. Why are diseases increasing among modern people? The reason is that various man-made environmental factors have reduced our contact with the natural environment, weakened the correspondence between man and nature, and weakened our own antibodies. In addition, there is a protective layer on the surface of our skin, which causes great damage to the skin and resistance of the body.

8. Air quality in hot yoga rooms: Yoga first emphasizes the importance of breathing. Everyone is crowded in a room heated by high temperature. The carbon dioxide exhaled by each person is glued into the air. Even with ventilation equipment, it is difficult to guarantee the quality of the air. Moreover, the air quality in various cities is polluted by various industries. The various substances discharged by the body are mixed with the air, which adds a bad effect to the high temperature environment. We know that bacteria and other diseases are easy to breed in high temperature environments. Such as: food spoilage under high temperature and other phenomena. Another thing that requires special attention is whether there are any sources of infectious diseases among the practitioners.

9. Advocates of hot yoga say it is a branch of Hatha yoga: We know from Indian yoga literature that Hatha yoga asanas are a branch of the core yoga school. Its practice itself is not the mainstream of yoga. It can be regarded as an ordinary fitness exercise. For practitioners of the Hatha yoga school, its connotation still emphasizes harmony with the natural environment. Hot yoga, on the other hand, is exactly what yoga calls for, a situation that is in harmony with nature. It locks people in a high-temperature environment. Whether this has a positive effect remains to be seen.

10. Advocates of hot yoga claim that practicing in a high temperature environment can increase the body's flexibility. Yes, it can be increased, but this increase deviates from the original intention of yoga, which is to achieve harmony and naturalness of the body. When practicing "hot yoga", under the catalytic effect of high temperature, passive and excessive stretching can be effective temporarily, but when we return to life, it is often difficult to maintain a harmonious response with our daily life, which leads to direct damage to various joints of the body.
