What should I do if my legs tremble when I am nervous

What should I do if my legs tremble when I am nervous

When people are nervous, they will have many unconscious reactions. For example, their legs will tremble, their faces will turn red, and they will stutter when they speak. This is a normal phenomenon. When you are too nervous, the conduction of your brain nerves will become slower, so the reaction speed will also decrease. This situation is uncontrollable and will naturally lead to the situation mentioned above.

When people are nervous, they will shake their legs unconsciously, right?

I was in the same situation before. My legs were out of my control, which made me panic. I looked up some information and asked some doctors, but they all said that this was a normal physiological phenomenon of the human body and a reaction of the body to protect itself and it could relieve tension.

But recently I saw a new statement in the scientific community. Speaking of this, we have to talk about a hormone secreted by the brain - dopamine. I believe many people have heard of this thing; it is a hormone secreted by the brain that can make people excited.

But as for its relationship with leg shaking, this involves genetics and can be traced back to ancient times.

At that time, our ancestors were still Homo sapiens, and all living environments were changeable and dangerous.

'When people encounter danger, or feel danger, they instantly become nervous and turn around and run without thinking.

At this time, the functionality of the brain is manifested differently. Some can suddenly secrete a large amount of dopamine, while others cannot.

For some people, the brain can secrete dopamine instantly. The brain will be stimulated instantly, and then the muscle tissue will be activated immediately, especially the leg muscles, which can accelerate and rush a long distance.

Those who cannot secrete dopamine can only start and accelerate slowly. If they really encounter jackals, tigers or leopards at that time, they will most likely not be able to escape.

So according to Darwin's theory of evolution, those who survive in the end are those who can instantly and continuously secrete dopamine when they are under stress until the danger is over.

Whenever we are nervous, our brain will unconsciously secrete dopamine and then stimulate our muscles. But now we don’t need to escape.

However, the secreted dopamine will still stimulate our muscles and make us excited, but we cannot run. After a long time, the excitement will turn into spasm, which will manifest as shaking, especially the legs used for escape.

If at this time, you don't go on stage and are asked to turn around and run, if you are particularly nervous, I guarantee that you can run at a speed you have never reached before.

At this point, you should know what's going on. This thing that makes us nervous and shake our legs when we go on stage is actually a necessary condition for the survival of our ancient ancestors. It is completely different from the tension relief we have heard before. This uncontrolled leg shaking cannot relieve the tension.

Seeing this, some friends will definitely ask you, we know the principle, but how to solve the problem of shaking legs on stage?

The solution is simple yet not simple. It is to calm yourself down so that you won’t shake.

For example, some people tremble violently when they first go on stage, but after speaking for a few minutes, they adapt and their brains feel that the "danger is over", so they feel better. If they cannot adapt, they can only wait until they get off the stage to feel better. Otherwise there is no other way.

Because in this situation it is not controlled by reason.
