Hypertonic magnesium sulfate (12.5%) has the effects of dehydration, improving microcirculation, and regulating the balance of potassium and calcium ions inside and outside cells. Guan Chunhe et al. achieved good results with epidural injection. Intravenous injection of mannitol not only reduces edema, but also, as it is an oxygen free radical antagonist in the body, it can reduce the secondary damage to the spinal nerve roots caused by the massive production of oxygen free radicals due to surgery. Lidocaine can dilate blood vessels and improve local blood circulation. When 2% lidocaine is injected around the spinal ganglia or paravertebral sympathetic ganglia, the blood flow of the spinal ganglia is measured to be significantly increased, thereby promoting blood circulation and reducing edema. Solanum alkaloids such as 654-2 also have similar effects. Other Chinese herbal preparations with similar effects include compound danshen liquid and pit viper antacid enzyme. Its epidural injection has the effects of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, dredge meridians, promote qi circulation and relieve pain. However, some authors believe that Chinese medicine has complex ingredients and may have serious consequences if it penetrates into the subdural space. |
