Symptoms of gastrointestinal flora imbalance

Symptoms of gastrointestinal flora imbalance

The gastrointestinal tract is the most important digestive tissue in the human body. Its function is to help the body digest food and absorb the nutrients in it. Generally, the gastrointestinal tract will secrete digestive juices. However, relying solely on digestive juices is not enough. There are also a considerable number of bacteria in the human intestine to help digestion. These bacteria are maintained at a reasonable level and are not harmful to the body. However, gastrointestinal flora imbalance will affect health. Let’s take a look at the symptoms of gastrointestinal flora imbalance.

The intestinal flora is combined in a certain proportion. The bacteria restrict and depend on each other, forming an ecological balance in quality and quantity. Once the internal and external environment of the body changes, especially the long-term use of broad-spectrum antibiotics, sensitive intestinal bacteria are inhibited, and the uninhibited bacteria take the opportunity to multiply, causing dysbacteriosis. The normal physiological combination is destroyed, and the pathological combination is produced, causing clinical symptoms, which is called intestinal dysbacteriosis.

The main clinical manifestation of this disease is severe diarrhea or chronic diarrhea. During the treatment with antibiotics, if diarrhea occurs suddenly or the original diarrhea worsens, this disease may occur. Diarrhea is mostly light yellow-green watery stool, sometimes like egg drop soup.

Fungal infection may present with foamy loose stools with a fishy odor and blood and pus in the stool; Staphylococcus aeruginosa infection may cause yellow-green loose stools, 3 to 20 times a day, accompanied by abdominal distension, and abdominal pain is generally not severe. Severe vomiting and diarrhea may be accompanied by dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, increased blood urea nitrogen, and decreased blood pressure; Candida albicans infection generally starts from the upper gastrointestinal tract, spreads to the small intestine and even around the anus. Thrush is often the earliest signal of Candida albicans enteritis. For example, erosion or ulcer of the small intestinal mucosa can cause multiple episodes of odorless mucopurulent stools, sometimes watery diarrhea, accompanied by indigestion. If not treated in time, it can spread to the respiratory tract, urinary tract and even brain tissue; Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection can produce blue-green fluorescein to make the stool green, but it does not often cause diarrhea. In some cases, there is powder in the stool, which generally causes mild abdominal pain. A few are accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and water and electrolyte imbalance. Shock may occur in severe cases.

Some tourists may suffer from intestinal flora imbalance, commonly known as acclimatization, due to changes in climate and environment. In recent years, due to the widespread use of refrigerators, some families store large amounts of meat and vegetables. Prolonged storage causes the food to spoil, which causes intestinal flora imbalance after consumption, resulting in vomiting and diarrhea. Some people become inattentive or even confused.
