Solid nodules in the liver_Multiple solid nodules in the liver

For the symptom of solid nodules in the liver, as long as the patient cooperates with the doctor's treatment in time and pays attention to his or her diet, it can be cured. Because solid nodules in the liver are a kind of liver cyst, they are caused by nodule hyperplasia due to the influence of excessive progesterone. The solid nodules in the liver can be removed through surgery, but postoperative care is required to avoid damage to liver function.

1. Can liver nodules be cured?

Nodular hyperplasia is very common. Benign liver lesions include nodular hyperplasia, liver cysts, hemangiomas and liver adenomas. Most multiple nodules have no genetic background. Focal nodular hyperplasia rarely becomes malignant. Young women are prone to nodular hyperplasia for unknown reasons. Some people believe that it is caused by the influence of estrogen and progesterone.

If liver nodules are detected, in most cases they are benign nodules unless the patient has a high-risk background such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, hepatitis E, long-term drinking, or a family history of liver cancer. For benign nodules, you should pay attention to them but don't be overly nervous.

2. How to check liver nodules

2.1 Ultrasound examination

Ultrasound examination is the preferred method for liver imaging examination, with the advantages of being cheap, convenient and non-invasive. Conventional ultrasound examinations recommend that patients fast for more than 8 hours to reduce the impact of gastrointestinal gas on liver image quality. Conventional ultrasound can display the size and shape of the liver, the intrahepatic parenchymal structure, the duct system, the direction and distribution of blood vessels, determine the presence or absence of liver nodules, the specific size and location, and preliminarily identify the benign or malignant nodules. It is suitable for routine physical examinations and regular review of nodules.

2.2 Ultrasound contrast examination

Although conventional ultrasound is the preferred method for liver examination, further qualitative diagnosis of intrahepatic nodules and clarification of the blood supply of nodules require the assistance of ultrasound angiography. Contrast ultrasound is done by injecting ultrasound contrast agent into a vein. It is suitable for lesions that need further diagnosis after routine ultrasound examination, and can provide more imaging information for suspicious lesions in patients with chronic hepatitis or cirrhosis, suspicious lesions in patients with a history of malignant tumors, and when MRI, CT or other imaging results are unclear or inconsistent.

3. What causes liver nodules?

3.1 Hepatic hemangioma

A common nodule in the liver is hepatic hemangioma, which can be diagnosed by ultrasound, color ultrasound, CT, MRI and other diagnostic techniques.

If the hemangioma is small, it does not need to be removed. However, if the hepatic hemangioma is large and compresses blood vessels and other organs, surgical removal is required.

3.2 Liver cysts

Hepatic cysts are also a common cause of liver nodules, and are more common in women after the age of 40.

3.3 Liver Cirrhosis

As liver disease continues to develop and worsen, it eventually leads to cirrhosis, causing liver tissue fibrosis and the appearance of liver nodules.

3.4 Others

If people who already have liver disease find liver nodules, further examination is needed to rule out the possibility of liver cancer.
