What are the symptoms of bladder cancer?

Bladder cancer is a disease with a very high incidence rate among cancers today. Many patients have lost their precious lives because of this disease. So, what are the symptoms of bladder cancer? I believe everyone must want to know. Let’s follow the experts to take a look.

1. The most common symptom of bladder cancer is hematuria that can be seen with the naked eye without any feeling. This is a unique "abnormal urination signal" of bladder cancer. Almost every bladder cancer patient will have it, and about 85% of bladder cancer patients seek medical treatment for this reason. There are two types of hematuria: one is macroscopic hematuria and the other is microscopic hematuria. Macroscopic hematuria refers to bloody urine that can be seen directly with the eyes, and microscopic hematuria refers to red blood cells that can be found in the urine under a microscope. Hematuria in bladder cancer is mostly painless and intermittent. Most of them are full-time hematuria, and a few are terminal hematuria. Hematuria accompanied by frequent urination and urgency is rare, which is also a symptom of bladder cancer. Data show that 94% of patients have this as the main symptom. Hematuria is mostly macroscopic hematuria, followed by microscopic hematuria. It can be intermittent, full-time hematuria, or terminal hematuria. Because of the diversity of hematuria, it is easy to be misdiagnosed or delayed diagnosis. As the disease progresses or the lesion becomes larger or is complicated by infection, it may be accompanied by symptoms of urinary tract irritation, discharge of necrotic material, discharge of lumps, blood clots, or difficulty urinating due to obstruction of the urinary tract by a mass, dripping, or even urine retention.

2. Frequent and urgent urination: If the tumor grows in the bladder triangle, bladder irritation may appear earlier. If urination pain occurs, it is not in the early stage. If unexplained hematuria suddenly appears, it may be a signal of bladder cancer symptoms. Long-term and excessive consumption of salty and spicy food is a factor causing this disease, so it is recommended that everyone reduce the intake of overheated, expired, overcooled, and spoiled food in their diet. If you are elderly and weak, it is recommended to eat some anti-cancer foods or alkaline foods with high alkalinity as appropriate. People with a certain disease gene should also eat more anti-cancer foods. At the same time, they should maintain a good mental state, which is very helpful in preventing cancer.

3. Others: If the tumor infiltrates into the ureteral orifice or grows at the ureteral orifice, it can cause ureteral dilation, leading to hydronephrosis and enlarged kidney volume. When bladder cancer metastasizes to the lungs, liver, and bones, corresponding symptoms will appear, such as cough, shortness of breath, abnormal liver function, pain in the liver area, and bone pain somewhere. A systematic examination should be conducted to make a timely diagnosis and early treatment.

The above are some of the main symptoms of bladder cancer given by experts. Everyone must be vigilant in daily life, pay more attention to protection, eat a reasonable diet, and have a regular work and rest schedule. Only by developing good living habits can we better resist the invasion of this disease.
