Sugar turns into fat

Sugar turns into fat

Many obese people pay attention to the reasonable combination of daily diet. They eat healthily but do not gain weight. People who want to lose weight do not eat high-calorie and high-fat foods. Some people who want to lose weight do not eat foods high in sugar, fearing that high-sugar foods will be converted into fat. In this case, they will easily gain weight. Many people do not know whether sugar will be converted into fat. Will sugar be converted into fat? Let’s take a look at it next.

1. Will sugar be converted into fat?

Sugar cannot be converted into fat in the human body.

Fat is: fatty acid + propylene glycol (glycerol) = fatty acid glyceride. If sugar can be converted into fat, it must first be converted into fatty acids and propylene glycol (glycerol). But how can glucose, fructose, etc. be converted into these two substances? Sugar and fat are energy substances. The human body first consumes sugar and then consumes fat for energy. Eating more sugar means consuming less fat. It makes sense that accumulating fat will make you fat.

2. What happens if you eat too much sugar?

A survey by the World Health Organization found that excessive sugar consumption can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, cerebral hemorrhage, diabetes, etc. A long-term high-sugar diet will cause an imbalance in the human body's internal environment, which in turn will cause various harms to human health. Since sugar is an acidic substance, eating too much sugar will change the pH value of human blood, making the body acidic, weakening the ability of human white blood cells to resist external viruses, making people susceptible to various diseases.

People who have a long-term addiction to sweets are prone to various eye diseases. Experts also suggest that senile cataracts are related to excessive consumption of sweets. They surveyed 50 cataract patients and found that 34% of them had a habit of loving sweets. They believed that this was related to glucose metabolism disorders.
