What are the aspects of biological treatment for brain cancer

The biological treatment method for brain cancer uses modern medical biology technology, which mainly includes three aspects:

(1) Cytokine therapy: Cytokine gene therapy is the process of introducing cytokines or their receptor genes into the body through certain technical methods, so that they are continuously expressed in the body and exert a therapeutic effect. Currently, there are many cytokine gene therapies that have been tried in the clinical treatment of malignant tumors, infections and autoimmune diseases, including: adoptive immunotherapy; cytokine gene therapy mediated by fibroblasts as carrier cells; direct injection of cytokine genes into the human body and expression of them to exert a therapeutic effect; active immunotherapy of tumor cells; and tumor cell-targeted cytokine receptor gene therapy.

(2) Somatic cell therapy: Recent studies have found that a special substance - cytokines can cause the human body to "clone" a large number of lymphocytes in a short period of time. Cell therapy is based on this principle. Special cells are collected from the human body, specially cultivated and amplified into lymphocytes that specifically attack and kill tumors, killing tumor cells, so that the patient can achieve long-term remission. It has become a new therapy for biological immunotherapy of tumors in the world today. This therapy includes hematopoietic stem cells, dendritic cells, cytokine-induced killer cells, tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and other treatments. It is usually prepared from autologous peripheral blood or autologous pleural and abdominal fluid. It is often used in combination with cytokines for the treatment of tumor microlesions, and is a common auxiliary treatment for preventing recurrence and metastasis.

(3) Anti-cancer antibodies and biologically directed therapy: Anti-tumor antibody directed therapy uses antibodies as "carriers" to connect with "warhead" drugs to form immunoconjugates. The antibodies bind to the target, allowing the drugs to selectively act on the local tumor. This method can reduce the toxic effects of drugs on normal tissues and improve the efficacy.
