1. Ia: The maximum diameter of a single tumor is ≤3 cm, with no tumor thrombus, abdominal lymph node or distant metastasis, and liver function grade is Child A.

2. Ib: The sum of the maximum diameters of a single or two tumors is ≤5 cm, located in half the liver, with no tumor thrombus, abdominal lymph nodes, or distant metastasis, and liver function grade is Child A.

3. Ⅱa: The sum of the maximum diameters of a single or two tumors is ≤10 cm in half the liver, or the sum of the maximum diameters of two tumors is ≤5 cm in the left and right hemiliver, with no cancer thrombus, abdominal lymph nodes, or distant metastasis; liver function grade is Child A.

4. Ⅱb: The sum of the largest diameters of a single or two tumors is >10 cm in half the liver, or the sum of the largest diameters of two tumors is >5 cm in the left and right hemiliver, or multiple tumors, no tumor thrombus, abdominal lymph nodes, or distant metastasis, and liver function grade Child A. Regardless of the tumor condition, there are tumor thrombi in portal vein branches, hepatic veins, or bile ducts and/or liver function grade Child B.

5. IIIa: Regardless of the tumor condition, there is a tumor thrombus in the portal vein or inferior vena cava, abdominal lymph node or distant metastasis; liver function grade is Child A or B.

6. IIIb: Regardless of tumor condition, tumor thrombus, or metastasis; liver function grade is Child C.
