What is malignant lymphoma

What is malignant lymphoma? Malignant lymphoma has gradually become one of the ten most common tumors in my country. As its threat to our lives increases, we must conduct more research and understand it. The following experts give a brief overview of its situation.

Lymphoma, also known as malignant lymphoma, is a malignant tumor originating from lymph nodes or other lymphatic tissues. It is one of the ten most common malignant tumors in my country. This disease is more common in middle-aged and young people, and male patients are more common than female patients. This disease can be divided into two categories according to its cell components: Hodgkin's disease and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Its malignancy varies, and it is caused by the malignant proliferation of the lymph-tissue cell system, and mostly occurs in the lymph nodes.

This disease is equivalent to the categories of "stone carbuncle", "yin carbuncle", "evil stranguria", "evil nucleus", "loss of glory", and "phlegm nucleus" in traditional Chinese medicine. The disease is caused by stagnation of cold phlegm, qi stagnation and phlegm accumulation, and liver and kidney yin deficiency. Malignant lymphoma is an immune cell tumor of lymph nodes and extranodal lymphoid tissue, which originates from the malignant transformation of lymphocytes or tissue cells. Although malignant lymphoma is relatively rare in my country, the number of new cases has increased year by year in recent years, with at least more than 25,000 cases per year, while the incidence rate in Western countries such as Europe, America and Australia can be as high as 11/100,000 to 18/100,000, slightly higher than the sum of all types of leukemia. At least 30,000 new cases are found in the United States each year. The mortality rate of malignant lymphoma in my country is 1.5/100,000, accounting for the 11th to 13th place in the number of deaths from all malignant tumors, which is similar to leukemia. Moreover, malignant lymphoma has some characteristics in my country:

①The central coastal areas where the incidence and mortality rates are higher.

② The peak of the onset age curve is around 40 years old. It does not have the double-peak curve of European and American countries, but is a single peak similar to Japan.

③The proportion of Hodgkin's disease is lower than that in European and American countries, but it tends to increase.

④ In non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, the proportion of follicular type is very low, and the diffuse type accounts for the vast majority.

⑤Data from the past decade show that T-cell lymphoma accounts for 34% in my country, which is similar to Japan and far more than in European and American countries.
