1. Laboratory tests that must be included include urea nitrogen, creatinine, liver function, complete blood count, hemoglobin, blood calcium, blood glucose, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, alkaline phosphatase and lactate dehydrogenase.

2. The imaging examination items that must be included are abdominal B-ultrasound or color Doppler ultrasound, chest CT, abdominal CT plain scan and enhanced scan (for patients with negative iodine allergy test and no relevant contraindications). Abdominal CT plain scan and enhanced scan and chest CT are the main basis for clinical staging before surgery.
3. Optional imaging examination items (1) Abdominal plain film: can help choose the surgical incision for open surgery;
(2) Indications for radionuclide renal blood flow mapping or IVU examination: patients who have not undergone enhanced CT scanning and cannot evaluate the contralateral renal function;
(3) Indications for radionuclide bone scintigraphy: ① corresponding bone symptoms; ② high alkaline phosphatase; ③ patients with clinical stage ≥ stage III;
(4) Indications for chest CT scan examination: ① Suspicious nodules on chest X-ray; ② Patients with clinical stage ≥ stage III;
(5) Indications for head MRI and CT scan examinations: patients with headache or corresponding neurological symptoms;
(6) Indications for abdominal MRI scan: patients with renal insufficiency, or patients with inferior vena cava tumor thrombosis as indicated by ultrasound or CT examination.
4. Imaging examination items for qualified regions and patients: These examination items are available for hospitals with the following examination equipment and patients with good economic conditions. Renal ultrasound angiography, spiral CT and MRI scans are mainly used for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of renal cancer; positron emission tomography (PET) or PET-CT examinations are expensive and are mainly used to detect distant metastatic lesions and evaluate the efficacy of chemotherapy, cytokine therapy, molecular targeted therapy or radiotherapy.
