Is endometrial cancer contagious?

Endometrial cancer, also known as uterine body cancer, is a common gynecological malignancy, second only to cervical cancer, and is very harmful. Experts from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Chongqing Union Hospital pointed out that in principle, as long as the patient's physical condition can tolerate it, they should receive surgical treatment as soon as possible. The advantages of surgical treatment are as follows:

1. Surgery can correctly diagnose and stage the disease. Although most patients with endometrial cancer have undergone segmental curettage, the error rate of pathological type and differentiation degree between curettage specimens and hysterectomy specimens is as high as 20%, and these indicators are directly related to further treatment and prognosis after surgery. Therefore, accurate clinical staging is the guarantee for choosing appropriate treatment, otherwise it is very likely to lead to excessive or insufficient treatment.

2. Surgery can remove the cancerous uterus and other lesions that may have metastasized, including the closely adjacent ovaries, fallopian tubes, and surrounding lymph nodes. Through surgery, the tumor can be directly removed to achieve the purpose of recovery, or the tumor volume can be reduced to benefit the patient's prognosis.

Experts point out that for women, treatment cannot rely solely on various drugs and medical instruments to treat the body, but also to recognize that women's dignity and psychological factors have an important impact on the treatment of women's diseases and women's health and beauty. Therefore, our hospital is very different from traditional hospitals. Seeing a doctor here is no longer a painful and troublesome thing, but a positive choice for your future life.
