Nowadays, intravenous infusion is a very common treatment method, and in China, it seems to have become a habit to give intravenous infusion at any time. In fact, although intravenous infusion can quickly cure the disease, it also has many side effects on the human body. If the infusion method is inappropriate, it may even cause the human body to produce drug-resistant bacteria and affect the body's immune function. Of course, it will also have a certain impact on the liver and kidney functions of the human body. The source of drug-resistant bacteria: Under normal circumstances, the human body's inherent flora is in balance with each other to ensure normal life activities of our body. When a large amount of fluid is infused into the human body, it often causes an imbalance in the bacterial flora and even produces drug-resistant bacteria, which has unimaginable consequences for treatment. Causes certain impact on liver and kidney function: The drugs and fluids introduced into the infusion are mainly metabolized and excreted from the human body through the liver and kidneys. When a large amount of drugs and fluids enter the human body, it is a huge burden on the liver and kidneys. People who receive long-term infusions often suffer from liver and kidney dysfunction. In addition, some drugs can directly cause damage to human organs. For example, aminoglycoside drugs may not only cause renal dysfunction, but also hearing impairment. Reduced immunity, prone to infection: Since drugs have both benefits and harms to the human body, the toxic side effects of drugs in infusion are more obvious. Giving intravenous drips as soon as you get sick will suppress the immune system, interfere with the body's normal immune system renewal, and thus weaken the body's normal defense function. Adverse drug reactions are more common: The incidence of adverse drug reactions during intravenous infusion is the highest among all multiple drug administration methods. Common reactions include allergic reactions such as fever, rash, itching, swelling, etc. Severe cases may also cause shock or even death. Phlebitis: Phlebitis is caused by long-term infusion of highly concentrated and irritating drugs, or by placing irritating plastic tubes in veins for too long, which causes a chemical inflammatory reaction in the local vein wall. It can also cause local vein infection due to lax aseptic operation during the infusion process. Cord-like red lines appear along the veins, and local tissues become red, swollen, burning, and painful, sometimes accompanied by systemic symptoms such as chills and fever. Air embolism: Air embolism is a dangerous complication that may occur when air is not completely exhausted during infusion, the rubber tube is not tightly connected and has leaks, or when pressurized infusion or blood transfusion is left unattended. As soon as a small amount of air enters the vein, the patient will feel abnormal chest discomfort, followed by difficulty breathing, severe cyanosis and hypoxia, and may die immediately. |
