Is DPT the same as tetanus ?

DPT is different from tetanus. After vaccination with the DPT vaccine, if trauma occurs, especially contaminated trauma, tetanus antitoxin vaccination is still required. Their immune mechanisms are different. Tetanus is included in DPT, which is an active immunization. The general immune effect can last for 10 years. In other words, there is no need to worry about tetanus within 10 years.

What is the difference between DPT and tetanus?

Both the DTP vaccine and tetanus vaccine are attenuated vaccines. The injections should be given at least 28 days apart, otherwise it will affect the effectiveness of the previous injection. However, there is no need to worry about its effect on growth and development.

The incubation period of tetanus can range from a few days to a few weeks, which is related to the site of primary infection. You can get a shot of diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus vaccine 28 days after the tetanus shot. DPT prevents three diseases, namely: whooping cough, diphtheria and tetanus, and DPT strengthens the prevention of two of them. It is a booster vaccination at 6 years old. Among them, tetanus vaccination is very necessary.

DPT is not tetanus. DPT can prevent tetanus. Their mechanisms of action are different. DPT is generally used on children aged 3 months to 6 years old and can enhance children's immunity. Therefore, parents vaccinate their children on time to prevent children from becoming unhealthy due to insufficient resistance.
