Which smokers will develop lung cancer? If you have these symptoms, you should pay attention to lung cancer

Lung cancer is the most common primary malignant tumor of the lung. The tumor cells originate from the bronchial mucosa or glands, and are often accompanied by regional lymph node and blood metastasis. In the early stage, there are often respiratory symptoms such as irritating dry cough and blood in sputum. The progression of the disease is related to the biological characteristics of the cells. Lung cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world today, and its growth rate is the fastest among all malignant tumors. Lung cancer seriously affects our health and life, and is a typical disease related to environmental factors and lifestyle.

Although the early symptom is cough, it is mainly manifested as irritating dry cough or a small amount of sticky sputum. Sometimes there is a high-pitched metallic sound when coughing, indicating that the tumor has caused bronchial stenosis. When secondary infection occurs, the sputum volume increases and becomes viscous. Stridor is also a symptom of lung cancer, because the tumor can cause partial obstruction of the bronchus, resulting in localized stridor. Hemoptysis is more common in central lung cancer. In the early stage, it is blood in the sputum or intermittent bloody sputum. When large blood vessels are invaded, it can cause symptoms of massive hemoptysis. Some patients have hemoptysis as the main first symptom.

Lung cancer may cause chest tightness and shortness of breath. The tumor causes bronchial stenosis and hilar lymph node metastasis. The enlarged lymph nodes compress the main bronchi or carina and metastasize to the pleura and pericardium, causing a large amount of pleural effusion and pericardial effusion. When the superior vena cava is obstructed, diaphragm paralysis and extensive lung involvement occur, chest tightness and shortness of breath may occur.

Lung cancer may also cause weight loss. Being thin is one of the most common symptoms of malignant tumors. When the tumor develops to the late stage, due to tumor toxins, long-term consumption, infection and pain, the patient will show cachexia and obvious weight loss, which leads to weight loss. Fever is also the most common symptom of lung cancer. Fever caused by tumor necrosis is more often caused by secondary pneumonia. Even when antibiotics are used, the effect is relatively poor.

It is generally recognized that smoking is an important risk factor for lung cancer. Cigarette paper contains various carcinogens, among which benzopyrene is the main carcinogenic factor. 80% to 90% of male lung cancer is related to smoking, and about 19.23% to 40% of female lung cancer is related to smoking. The lung cancer mortality rate of smokers is 10 to 13 times higher than that of non-smokers. In addition, passive smoking is also likely to cause lung cancer. The more you smoke, the longer you smoke, and the earlier you start smoking, the higher the incidence and mortality of lung cancer. Quitting smoking gradually reduces the risk of lung cancer as the number of years of quitting increases. It takes fifteen years of quitting to be close to that of non-smokers.

For this disease, we must have a healthy lifestyle. Smoking is harmful to our health. We should encourage smoking cessation and pay attention to passive smoking. For people with a high risk of this disease, they must have regular physical examinations, early detection of tumors, and early treatment. Once the above symptoms occur, they should go to the hospital for examination in time to confirm whether they have lung cancer. If so, they should be treated in time.
