There are many ways to cook crabs, and steaming is one of them. Steaming crabs can make the crab meat more tender and taste better, so many people choose to steam them when cooking crabs. Since crabs live in mud, there are many parasites and bacteria in their bodies. Therefore, when cooking crabs, they must be sterilized at high temperature. So how long does it take to steam crabs?

Crabs mainly live in mud, so they must be cooked thoroughly during the steaming process. Usually, it only takes about 15 to 20 minutes to steam crabs. At this time, the crabs are fully cooked and the meat is very tender.

When steaming normal-sized crabs, after the water is heated, be sure to keep it boiling for 20 minutes to kill any bacteria. If you are steaming very large crabs, you need to increase the time based on the actual situation. It is best to steam them for about 15 to 25 minutes.
