How to care for liver cancer patients in hot summer? Liver cancer patients should know these 4 rehabilitation knowledge

Liver cancer has a high incidence and mortality rate, second only to lung cancer. Surgical resection of liver cancer in its early stages can improve the cure rate. After a series of treatments, patients need to be well cared for, especially in the hot summer. They should not be impatient or drink alcohol, otherwise the condition will become more and more serious.

How to care for liver cancer patients in hot summer?

1. Arrange your diet

In terms of diet, we need to follow the three principles of cleanliness. One is coolness, that is, eating more vegetables, fruits and melons. One is lightness, with light diet as the main method, cooking food by steaming, stir-frying, stewing and cold dressing. Another is to clear and nourish, choose beans or bean products rich in plant protein, poultry, fish or lean meat with low fat content, etc., avoid eating hot and greasy food to prevent heat and dryness from hurting the body. Air pollution is more serious in summer, coupled with excessive exposure to ultraviolet rays, which will increase free radicals in the body. In addition, the large consumption and malnutrition in summer will reduce the ability to remove free radicals. You may wish to drink 2 to 3 cups of green tea every day. The tea polyphenols contained in green tea have certain antioxidant effects and physiological activities, which can protect various cells in the body from free radical damage.

2. Pay attention to personal hygiene

The high temperature and humidity are suitable for the growth of pathogenic bacteria. Liver cancer patients are weak and consume a lot of energy. During the treatment, they lack granulocytes, use a lot of hormones, and suffer skin and mucous membrane damage. They have indwelling catheters, poor drainage caused by obstruction, and organ damage, which increase the risk of infection and other complications. Therefore, they must pay attention to personal hygiene, take a bath frequently, brush their teeth in the morning and evening, rinse their mouths after meals, pay attention to food hygiene, and do not eat moldy and spoiled food. Keep the living room well ventilated and disinfect regularly.

3. Don’t go out in hot weather

The strongest UV rays are between 10am and 4pm, so try not to go out during this period. In summer, the air conditioner should be controlled at 26℃, and the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor should not exceed 7℃. The air conditioner should be turned off after two hours of continuous use, and the windows should be opened for ventilation.

4. Drink plenty of water

In summer, the metabolism speeds up and it is easy to sweat. Excessive sweating will cause the body to lack electrolytes and water. Cancer patients are prone to dehydration. They should ensure that they drink 1500~2500 ml of water every day, and they can also drink light salt water appropriately. Patients who are undergoing chemotherapy sweat a lot, so they should pay more attention to skin cleanliness and dryness. Wet clothes should be changed in time. Choose loose and soft cotton clothes to reduce friction on the skin. Do not use iodine, soapy water or hot water to scrub the skin, and do not use alcohol-containing ointments or lotions.

Kind tips

In the hot summer, many cancer patients suffer from poor sleep, which will reduce immunity for a long time and affect the treatment effect. Therefore, they should keep mentally relaxed, soak their feet or listen to soothing music before going to bed to improve sleep quality.
