What to do if liver cancer patients have vomiting and anorexia? Targeted treatment is provided for 4 types of liver cancer

In many cases, in daily life, many people do not know much about liver cancer. Some even do not know that they are ill, let alone seek timely treatment, thus delaying the best time for treatment. So, what should we do if we have nausea, vomiting and anorexia due to liver cancer? Nausea and vomiting are caused by many reasons. Everyone must pay attention to this. If this symptom occurs, we should go to the hospital for examination in time to prevent the occurrence of liver cancer.

Liver cancer is a complex disease and difficult to treat. When liver cancer develops to the late stage, patients may suffer from nausea and vomiting due to compression of huge cancerous masses or large amounts of ascites; poisoning caused by absorption of tumor necrosis products; hypokalemia caused by reduced food intake and diuretic use; and weakened intestinal peristalsis caused by portal vein thrombosis; tumor-induced or existing liver dysfunction, etc. In severe cases, these can affect diet and accelerate the formation of cachexia.

What should you do if you have nausea, vomiting, and anorexia due to liver cancer? I believe this is what many patients and their families are most concerned about. In our traditional Chinese medicine, it is believed that the early symptoms of liver cancer, nausea and vomiting, occur because the evil is blocked inside, damaging the middle qi, causing the stomach qi to not descend, and the turbid qi to rise. "Jingyue Complete Works" divides it into two categories, deficiency and excess, for syndrome differentiation and treatment. Excess syndrome is treated by removing evil and turbid qi, harmonizing the stomach and lowering the reverse; deficiency syndrome is treated by regulating the spleen and stomach, and pivoting the qi mechanism. Therefore, modern Chinese medicine, based on the characteristics of liver cancer and its nausea and vomiting, provides targeted treatment for the following situations:

1. For those with dampness blocking the inside of the body and obstructing the stomach qi, the treatment is to eliminate dampness and invigorate the spleen, regulate qi and descend the stomach. The prescription is Erchen Decoction with modifications, and the ingredients include tangerine peel, atractylodes, amomum, pinellia, tuckahoe, atractylodes, raw licorice, magnolia bark, and patchouli.

2. For those with liver qi invading the stomach and stomach disharmony and descent, the treatment is to soothe the liver and regulate qi, descend the adverse qi and stop vomiting. The prescription is Chaihu Shugan San with modifications, and the ingredients include bupleurum, daichushi, zhike, xiangfu, white peony root, qingbanxia, coptis, bamboo eggplant, angelica, and xuanfuhua.

3. For patients with long-term illness and weak spleen and stomach, the treatment should be to strengthen the spleen and stomach, relieve the fullness and regulate qi. The prescription can be modified from Xiangsha Liujunzi Decoction, which includes costus root, amomum villosum, pinellia ternata, codonopsis pilosula, tangerine peel, roasted liquorice, poria, atractylodes macrocephala, and astragalus.

4. For those who have evil toxins damaging the yin and have insufficient stomach fluid, the treatment should be to clear away heat and produce fluid, benefit the stomach and lower the qi. The prescription can be modified from Bamboo Leaf and Gypsum Decoction, with herbs such as reed root, coptis chinensis, bamboo shavings, raw gypsum, pseudostellaria, stir-fried hawthorn, japonica rice, Ophiopogon japonicus, and Dendrobium officinale.

The most important thing in the treatment of liver cancer is to grasp the timing. Our patients should detect their symptoms in time, then take the right medicine and actively cooperate with the doctor's work.

The above is a detailed introduction to the common manifestations of liver cancer, hoping to help patients in need. In general, doctors will help patients control and regulate their appetite, but there are also accidents, and family members must make corresponding plans and preparations. I hope everyone can pay more attention to the diet of liver cancer, which is also very beneficial to the recovery of the disease.
